No they were eligible to try qualify. only a few did so

Hassan N'Dam and former IBF Flyweight world champ Amnat Ruenroeng are probably the most prolific pros to qualify for Rio.

I watched a few of the Olympic Qualifiers in Venezuela. There were quite a few pros who have entered to go to Rio. I'm not sure how the majority of them went but I didn't see any of them dominating or completely outclassing the amateurs. For the most part the fights were all reasonably competitive.

Even N'Dam didn't look amazing.

ANOTHER day, another drama facing the Rio Olympics.
Its not problems with the Olympic village or parts of venues collapsing this time its something that hits at the heart of what the Games are about.
According to The Guardian, Olympic boxing has been hit by allegations of corruption, with some insiders saying fights are fixed.
Based on the UK publications report, there are worries senior figures in the sport will influence the draw and judging system to arrive at pre-determined results.
Sources, who spoke to The Guardian on the condition of anonymity, said hand and head signals were used to instruct judges how to score certain rounds. However, believing corruption has become more widespread, it was reported officials and judges now meet beforehand to decide on a plan of action.
This is all being done very quietly, one source told The Guardian. Some bouts are so bloody blatant its obvious. It sickens me to my stomach.
Boxing judge Seamus Kelly told The Guardian he had first hand experience of corruption in the sport when he was asked to cheat in 2011 at the Arab Games in Doha. When he raised the issue of fixing fights in 2015, nothing came of it, and he believes he was shafted for suggesting something was amiss.
It was mental abuse. I wasnt sleeping at all because of the way they made me feel. It put an X against my name. They were pushing me away, Kelly said.

People are afraid to speak out because if they are judges they will be sidelined and wont get to go to the Olympics or other championships. If they are officials, they fear their countrys boxers will be targeted.
One source said there would be no doubt referees in Rio will be corrupted, while another said certain judges were being hand-picked to officiate specific fights.
Another senior source claimed AIBA International Boxing Association was behind the corruption, while he said he had witnessed numerous scores being manipulated at boxing championships an experience that is giving him cause for concern about what will unfold in Rio.
An AIBA spokesman refuted the allegations, saying the organisation was committed to running a clean sport.
Since June 2015, AIBA has undertaken major governance changes ensuring the long-term development of our sport according to the requirements of our business and sport partners and for the benefits of the AIBA worldwide community, they told The Guardian.
The organisation also said it was confident all referees and judges have the highest levels of officiating and are in an optimal situation to perform accordingly.
The 2012 London Olympics came under scrutiny when it was alleged Azerbaijan had, in essence, bought medals after loaning AIBA $US10m that was never repaid.
