This may explain why Eddie Hearn was having such a hard time finalizing the Brook-Vargas fight. Perhaps Arum was stalling because he'd rather put Vargas in with Pac. If anything this backs up Hearns story of how the Brook GGG fight came together.

I guess if Manny is busy back home and can't be 100% dedicated to boxing then going with a easier opponent makes sense but I wish they would've gone all in for the Crawford fight.

I dont even understand why Pacman had to be so dramatic bout retiring and then return few months later, anyway.

About the fight itself, its snooze fest in my opinion.Bob Arum keeps matching Pac vs fighters from his weak and boring stable.3 fights against Bradley, who wanted to see those ?

I was pretty sure that Pacman was goin to win vs Crawford but anyway, this awful matchup instead,Vargas is big and strong guy but very limited.

Remember when ESB said Floyd would be back in the ring after retirement due to spending all his money and going broke. Fun times.

    Pacquiao was never retired.

I'm trying to picture the coming landscape.

I think, win or lose Brook will now return to Waw and face Khan. Pacific faces Vargas. The winners are the 1 and 2 totally surpassing Thurman, Porter and Garcia. Winners face off in a huge unification fight.

That's a scenario I can see playing out.

all just money fights for pac now it seems. crawford, spence, thurman are for greatness so i guess he is done and should retire to give way for others. they are just after the floyd rematch which is too obvious for conning money from the fans. kovalev-ward is the most significant fight right now and pac fight is spoiling it. boxing fans should demand pac to give way his scheduled money fight.

I don't see the problem tbh. So far Crawford and Khan have called out Pac. If he faces one of them after Vargas it isn't a duck right?

If he goes Vargas, Bradley, Rios then yeah complain but Vargas is a ranked world title holder so it isn't a bad fight by any stretch.

No one should be surprised, Arum has wanted to feed the public this fight for a while. Meh.....

Rios is a new man under Ricky Funez, I'd love to see a rematch! :!:

Yeah, interesting that apparently Bob Arum colluded in s conspiracy theory to help save face for GGG and make sure GGG-Brook could happen, even though he promotes neither fighter and the fight is in the UK.

It is pretty interesting watching guys twist this around
