wouldn't give him a rematch either, another ripoff that didnt help boxing

then for some reason, took on some guy named Lalonde who they SAY owned two titles.

I wonder what his fans have to say about all this

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy but they shouldve never let him get near Terry Norris

and you continually whine that srl, a 3-1 fave over Norris, and with 4 bouts w/o ring rust of 87 plus substantially lighter, and with the proven championship experience, is somehow disadvantaged against Norris? :huh

What actually hurt leonard s that he didnt have the experience to deal with someone like Norris

fighting 35 turtles with gloves does nothing to progress one enough to deal with Norris-like speed

Pryor: I beat everyone in my division I deserve a chance.

Leonard: Hey, this is MY show 'pal'.

Actually Leonard accepted a rematch against Hagler...but where's Hagler? In Milan, Italy.

Oh yes, I will admit to that after years of frustration sitting thru Leonard- vs various bums - no speed Lalonde, Kalule, Bonds, Howard followed by retirement, and even Hagler who was overwhelmed by the weaver triplets in training, to seeing him with some REAL competition like Norris was a nice change

from no speed opponents to one who was just the opposite, an opponent with EXTREME speed, I couldnt believe my luck when he signed the contract

I knew leonard would never be able to cope with this kind of speed

but when he did, he signed his doom as a fighter

    and we were glad

the end result just as I imagined it

    Norris 120

    lennard 106

    It was sweet :yep

Leonard fought in the 70s all the way to the 90s...yet Haglers "too old"...and flying away to Milan, Italy.

    pryor?

isnt he that guy that walked up to Leonard and challenged him face to face

then Leonard told him to sit down?

    That doesnt surprise me

Ray isnt comfortable against guys that have a good chance of beating him in fights

    Guys like Nunn, Pryor

and even postponed the Hagler fight for five whole years until he waas able to get the worst, most lame Hagler imaginable

From what I saw in the Arguello fight, Pryor's punch output figures to having Aaron edge Ray over 15 rounds

unless Ray can somehow find a way to stop him late

no, I saw Ray's interview with Jim Hill two weeks after the Hagler fight

jim asked him straight and Leonard looked about as enthusiastic as taking a rematch with Terry Norris

It didnt surprise me he gave up his title without a fight, only to go after Lalonde. Of course this was after telling Jim he wasnt interested in boxing at all so he can be excused from defending his title; it was only the fight with Hagler that mattered

but I dare say no more. Now I'm going to hear it from all the Leonard fans

Leonard: "Even if I DID think he won the fight, I wouldn't say that to him."

In other words, he DID fight like man. He didn't listen to what his opponent was telling him to do! A winner. Not to discredit Hagler though, he's still perceived as a champion.

I thought Leonard fought well but hagler had no teeth left

It's like I been saying, he skipped hagler before because he didnt like what he saw, namely his skills & abilities were too much for leonard at the time

It's guys who look like 87 Hagler that Leonard looks for. He's not afraid of guys that are slow and dont hit hard but just the opposite; guys that are fast and DO hit hard

Now you take a guy like Norris....

Of course I'll forgive you...if you're really actually sorry and we do this at a public talk show. Oh, but I'm NOT giving you a rematch because I forfeited the belt again.

I would say Ray Leonard could have used some Kaleblazer in his bout with Norris
