Has Ward's latest masterclass changed your mind on the Kovalev fight?

Ward still 60-40 or smt like that. He is dreadful fighter to watch but he is damn good.

 

We seen with Frampton v Cruz that the judges went for the Quality over Cruz quantity,with Wards limited power how on earth is he supposed to nick the rounds over Kovalevs quality punches,this isn't the olympics it's prize fighting,as long as Kovalev can stop Ward clinching I can't see how he loses?

If Kovalev does not hurt Ward or stop him, he's not winning the fight, IMO. Ward is too good of a boxer to be outboxed by the likes of Kovalev.

But, because, Kovalev can box, you have to like his chances at being able to get a good shot in that could change the fight. Ward is so damn good though. That is what makes this a must see fight.

I still got Andre Ward winning it. I'll know in the first couple rounds how it's going to go. If Sergei can't get by Andre's jab, it's over. Sorry fans of Sergei, I think he's an excellent boxer as well, but if he doesn't have an answer for Ward's jab, it's a wrap. You should be very concerned about how he's going to deal with it.

And it's a great jab. No easy task. Arguably the best jab (for sure one of the best) in boxing right now.

 

Yes it did because now you get an idea on how he will attack Kov and what kind of defense he has in store. Of course we don't know how he will apply these skills because he will have a game plan but he's ready. I went from picking Kov as a definite win to thinking SOG has a real chance to win.

Ward still lacks a natural right hand and those fighters never beat two fisted fighters but SOG is smart and he's a jabber and body puncher and that will give anyone problems. Kov will have to systematically break Ward down or outbox him. The thing is Kov is capable of doing both and hurting Ward with one shot. Fascinating fight.

Ward is like Cotto, Dlh, Donaire, Felix Trinidad and others. They lack a big right hand in their biggest fights and came up short. I expect Ward to come up short also, but he is a live dog and has a 50-50 chance to win. I was 90-10 in favor of Kov. Not anymore.

The Ward from last night will beat the Kovalev from the Chilemba fight.

It all the depends in what shape they enter the ring come fight night.
