Kovalev can box. That can't be denied. Ward is a better boxer. That can't be denied either. Kovalev has big power. Ward has decent pop. For Kovalev to beat Ward, he will need to stop Ward from outboxing him. I am not sure he can do that.

I just can't see Ward losing to a guy who can't outbox/outhink him. But, all it really takes is 1 punch to win a fight or change a fight. So, we shall have to see.

Ward is being grossly underestimated and Kovalev ( simply because of his assumed power) is being overestimated. Gents is grinding on Ward because he didn't knock out Brand but Kovalev didn't knock out Chilemba and Ward looked a lot better in beating Brand than Kovalev looked beating Chilemba. Kovalev has stopped a lot of guys but who has he knocked out cold. He has excellent power but I don't see devastating power. Ward won't be there like a heavy bag the way most of his opponents were. Kovalev is in for a rude awakening. He about to get his ass beat.l

True but Chilemba is better than Brand, Kovalev would have had his routine early KO stoppages against either of the guys Ward fought.

It's 50-50 fight. Both have a chance to win but Kovalev needs to know how to deal with Ward's boxing skills. I think that Kovalev needs to box and wait for an opportunity to land his big punches.

The thing is, Ward would have beat Chilemba in a much better fashion than Kovalev did. He is just a better all around fighter than Kovalev is.

No disputing that, but danny was not fair in his assessment of Kovalev.

No and no. Ward is only doing good against relatively primitive come forward fighters. Chilemba would do much better than Brand did. Wait and see how Kova flattens that "all around better fighter".
