Literally any fight could end up being dull. How many times has there been a consensus "surefire FOTY candidate" that ended up disappointing? (either a one-sided mismatch, or marred by fouling and/or negativity, or the styles just didn't mesh the way everyone hoped they would) - Tons. In fact, probably more often than any of those actually deliver as promised. Us fans usually jinx ourselves.
"Boring" in this case means not competitive. Ward is going to white wash Kovalev who will never seem like he's in the fight so I guess it will be boring. Then you'll have to hear from me about it never being a 50/50 fight in the first place and bow down to the #1 P4P king.
If it's boring, it's because Andre is winning. I believe Kovalov gets frustrated easily -- Andre will take advantage of that. Seems funny to say, but Kovalov has a puncher's chance but that's about it. Andre will win this one easily, as long as he doesn't get hit with something big and I think he can do that with ease. I like kovalov and think he's a great fighter, good for the sport and all of that, I just don't see him coming out in top of this one.
Obviously Ward will want the type of fight that looks boring. He wants to spoil and take Kovalev's offense from him. He may resort to butting if he gets caught.
I'm starting to think Ward is gonna have to head butt Sergey in the court room because that may be the only place they'll be fighting.
