the fight in which joe asked the ref to stop the fight seconds after he got floored?

joe turning to the ref to ask him to stop the fight after he got clean floored in the same round, would do more to put anyone off facing joe for fear of being similarly cheated by the Cardiff mafia out of a victory.

Yeah that's part of why I mentioned it. I've noticed a slight double standard there.

Is this an annual tradition? To argue about how Jones and Hopkins "ducked" Calzaghe during their prime!

Or is the thread that popular it's been on the 1st page since 2011!!!

Has a dreary mundane poster with a pitiful 239 profile views to his name in a 3 year posting period really just just delivered this delusional statement live on ESB before a gloabal audience of millions?:lol::rofl:patsch

Anglosaxon put ESB on the boxing map alongside the prestigious Team Elite Corporation and to this day remains the most respected expert in the boxing fraternity :pwned:ban:beat

Joe Calzaghe will always be remembered as the man who outrageously jumped up weights and wrecked the American boxing scene with emphatic victories over the men you had delusionally held on a pedestal for a number of years, and whatsmore Zaggerz dismantled both Jones and Hopkins on foreign soil with the most brittle hands in boxing . . . . deal with it ham n egger before I lose my rag :deal

    No mate.

He complained of the difficulties of making SMW for a long time.

He spoke of wanting the biggest fights out there.

Just prior to fighting Mger Mkrtchyan in 2004, he actually said that there was nothing left for him at SMW.

He was a great fighter but he wasn't ambitious. Frank W said that he was more than happy to fight a guy named Freeman Barr.

He could have fought at LHW years before he did. He's a big guy. His natural walking around weight was about 190 pounds.

You've got to look at things from the early 00's when Sven wouldn't unify. At that point, how could he have thought that remaining at SMW would have attracted a big name? Yes, in the end, he got the big names. But that was about 5 years later. An ambitious fighter would have moved up to LHW when Sven closed the door in his face. It's okay for Bailey to say: "Yeah, but he stayed and had big fights with Lacy and Kessler etc" but he couldn't have foreseen that back in 2003, because those guys weren't around then. Again, if he was ambitious, he wouldn't have fought Ashira and Salem in his 30's.

His resume speaks for itself mate.
