Hung out with Frankie Liles for a month or two so back when I lived in L.A. Super nice guy. He took me to a strip club and left to go talk to somebody and gave me a stack of $1s to give the broads, true story. I think he barely got out of high school but talks like a college graduate. Talked to Steve Forbes for a few minutes some years ago, he said that if Mayweather - Paquiao ever happened it would be no contest, Floyd was on a different level and that he's sparred with both. The two nicest athletes (not just boxers) I met were... shockingly...JAMES TONEY AND FERNANDO VARGAS! Just real down to earth guys. Mia St. John and Holly Holm both flirted with me, I was too sorry to take advantage.
You don't p*ss us off, you're entertaining most of the time ... but y'all shore stuck ya big ole foot in it with the "my mum met Ali" thread
Calzaghe and Hatton when they fought in Newcastle. Technically I was working but it was backstage so got to meet them. Was pretty cool.
Mostly welsh ones Calzaghe - loads of times on the **** nice guy Enzo Mac - in the gym top guy down to earth Steve Robinson - sparred with him and his lad Luke Eddie avoth - used to work together. He had great stories Iran Barclay - met him in strip club in was doing security in. Was so punch drunk and his face was all puffy and bashed in. Was depressing to see. Gary Lockett - Held pads for me a few times. Lovely chap. Amir Khan - Met him in casino. Ended up going out on the **** with him around cardiff. Was as he just turned pro. Was a great kid. Very personable. Prob the nicest of all boxers I've met Rudduck Bowe - Met him at a tiny boxing club in cardiff. He was good friends with a cardiff referee apparently. Had some pics with him and did some pretend sparring with him. Very chilled out guy. Looked very unhealthy though. Was walking around with 2 litre bottle of cokeat all times. Craig Kennedy - we used to spar as amateur
I remember the 1st time i seen hatton in person,he was working michael gomez's corner, shook his hand and he looked tiny, and thought to my self how the hell does he do what he does in the ring, classic case of dont judge a book by its cover
Arreola is a nice guy. Saw him after the Wilder fight. He thanked me for coming out to see the fight and asked me if I wanted to buy any weed.
I met William Joppy back in 2001 before the Trinidad fight... He signed my autograph and he was a nice guy.
Chisora got out of his big 4x4 Mercedes up in Chelsea. Degale up in St Albans. Also spotted... Mayweather in the IV clinic flushing out. One thing I remember...he had tiny tiny hands....I mean they were tiny :hi:
