Wilder was 91kgs and a 2-3 year novice, still got bronze which is impressive. Now he's been pro for 8 years he's a different guy.

It is not impressive at all, he got the easiest draw in Olympic boxing history and still struggled against the fat Moroccan

apparently the eastern block of europe is controlling olympic boxing . they always get the bull chizit calls and its so obvious. the final decision always takes a few minutes more. I would not waste my time at the olympics i dont think its the path to pro career. Let the 35 to 40 year old cheating amatures have it.

Really pleased Levit won (and deservedly won IMO), especially after that BS decision he lost against Savon in the WSB final which he clearly won. I've noticed that Levit's power, movement and counter punching skills make Savon much more wary than he usually is.

Nistor got robbed royally against that Jordanian kid. I'd never heard of the Jordanian before but I got the impression he was the very durable type as soon as I laid eyes on him and so he proved to be.

Buatsi is a beast and he's done brilliantly to stop Rasulov and Katende. He's obviously got a lot of power. Don't forget he put De La Cruz on his ass too when they fought in last years world championships. I wouldn't be surprised if he won silver or even possibly the gold. Think he'll make a great pro too.

Some of the refereeing and decisions have been really bad again. I saw a Mongolian kid drop his opponent flat on his back the other day with a huge shot and for some inexplicable reason the ref decided not count it as a KD. The punch landed with a audible loud thud too. :patsch

I also saw one ref deduct a point of one guy for no discernible reason at all. Even the commentary team were completely baffled by it.

Speaking of whom. I like Richie Woodhall and Ronald Mcintosh but they're terribly biased at times.

Yes the Eastern Block controls Olympic boxing that's why Romanian Nistor got robbed against a Jordanian yesterday. Moron.

Have to wait all day to see GB's Buatsi smash the snot out of Bencobbler.

Buatsi is enjoying himself, the young man is buzzing, on Facebook he is banging up selfies with Mayweather

Buatsi will make a decent pro, sits on his punches, good fundamentals. Reminds me of Errol Spence. Yeah, he definitely has power, he's shown that consistently in his record.
Although Julio Cesar La Cruz has been knocked down a few times, they're virtually always largely influenced by balance.

Buatsi doesn't cut off the ring as well as I'd like him to, and when he's up against a La Cruz, he needs to get very aggressive..more than he's used to.

Good tournament so far from him. I personally think he'd get Bronze.

As for the Jordanian kid, he must move down in weight and get into great shape. He would be decent there. He was just in against a wrecking machine. He's got potential but Nistor wrecked him.

Nistor in a street fight would be amazing.

Buatsi seems to be improving fast but if he gets past Benchabla he'll have to face the winner of Mammadov and Niyazmbetov either of whom will be a difficult obstacle to overcome. There seems to be a buzz about him at the moment though like this could be his championships so you never know. De La Cruz should obviously be heavily favoured to win the gold and I favour him to win it too. I agree that realistically Buatsi should probably come away with a bronze, but like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if he came away with something better. That said, Benchabla is a quality operator himself and he has bags of experience and some good wins under his belt so getting past him is certainly no foregone conclusion.
