Savon never beat Levit, Levit was the most effective boxer, Savon was running through out the fight.

Wow, the crowd are amazing in booing the decision. I feel sorry for Tischenko though, it's not his fault

I can see why people are upset, but c'mon, it's just the amateurs. They don't really matter.

It's not 'amateurs', it's AIBA boxing and they do matter, they matter just as much if not more than pros. Professionals is just about picking opponents and making money.

Don't tell me the professionals matter and AIBA doesn't...professionals got beaten from pillar to post and humiliated back to 'paid boxing'. I'm not calling it 'professionals' ever again.

What's the difference between amateurs and AIBA?

I was annoyed enough that Zhanibek Alimkhanuly was jobbed by corruption earlier. Now this.

When someone is an 'Olympic Gold/Silver/Bronze Medalist', you have to watch their fight yourself before you can verify it. There's no way I'm calling Levit a 'Silver Medalist'. He's an 'Olympic Champion, given Silver'.

They're the same fundamentally, but AIBA boxers/amateurs are not 'amateurs' compared to professionals. They're equal in footing in their own right. They deserve to be branded differently.

You've obviously never boxed because if you had then regardless of the level you'd know how much time, effort, dedication it takes and how many sacrifices these men (and women) make.

To dismiss them as "just amateurs" and basically shrug your shoulders after watching a man get denied what was clearly and rightfully his is off in my opinion, it was a total injustice and is not a nice thing to witness.

I bet most of the people on here have never boxed.

I don't doubt that they worked their asses off to get to the Olympics, but I just don't think the amateurs matter as much as the pros.

It was the worst decision in Olympic boxing since Roy Jones in 1988 & has killed the sports future

Vasily Levit won every round convincingly, he absolutely battered Tischenko & somehow lost.

There's actually no logic behind what you're saying. One gets the bright lights, the other doesn't. The paid ranks get more attention, and matters more to 'society' more in terms of financial demand, than AIBAs. But that's all.

That's your opinion and obviously you're entitled to it mate.

It matters to me and I'm sure it matters to a lot of boxing fans. I personally would find it just as disgusting if a decision like that happened at a local amateur show and some young kid was on the end of it.

All levels really. Top end olympic (amateur) matters far more than 'most' pro level fights, I say that as a fan but I am confident that most athletes would agree too.
