1) There is no such thing as a Jewish suffix amongst European Jews. Some may be common with Jews such as Mann (which gets dropped to Man outside Europe) Stein, Berg which are all native German or for Jews from Slavic countries sky and owicz are very common.

owicz is a Polish spelling for ovych or ovich which is a patronymic meaning "Son of" like O'Conner for the Irish or the suffix 'vicius' for Lithuanians. Hence why Patronymics or 'middle names' like Volodymyr and Vitali Volodymyrovych Klychko end in ovych, son of Volodymyr, their Father. The same thing was done with family names when they were first handed out roughly a thousand years ago.

Lev is a common Eastern Slavic first name especially in Western Ukraine and while biblical in origin, also means Lion. Historically Western Ukraine was "Halych" and had a lion for it's coat of arms and its still used today in Lvivska Oblast and the city of Lviv. The Kingdom of Halychyna-Volhynia which was comprised of most of modern day Western Ukraine and Southern Belarus was one of three successor states to Kievan Rus after it fell in the mid 13th century.

Lev Danylovych a ruler of the Kingdom is the second most famous ruler behind only his Father Danylo.

Originally ya, enko is from Eastern Ukraine, chuk Western, although some Russians with those names may have lived in Russia for 200 years in some cases. Although the sublime former HW Roman Romanchuk was born and raised in Lviv but moved to Russia around age 16 after initially not making the Ukrainian team as a Junior. That ended up being a huge loss.

Tischenko was a bit of a disappointment this olympics, which is weird considering he won gold lol. I've yet to watch the final, but he can't use his reach for ****, and tends to slap with his hooks and fight a bit like a spastic.

Levit really impressed me though, has great pro potential, just wish he was a little younger.
