I was just about to make this (obvious) first point, that styles make fights. Also was about to repeat myself again re the second point, about the size of current 154-lbers, particularly compared to the 5'7/5'8 same-day 160-lbers that I named in this thread.

Of course styles make fights. But now it's fact time.
Past it Oscar looked better against closer to prime May than close to prime Canelo did. You say that's due to styles. Ok

Canelo couldn't take out a worse version of Cotto, as Pac and Margo stopped a better version. Kevin says that's due to volume punching and angles, and in Margo's case, plaster. Ok

I say Hamsho and Antuofermo walk through Canelo because the former went 11 with Hagler and the latter went 15 with Hagler and Canelo, a decent puncher at 154, doesn't hit anywhere near as hard as very good punching middleweight Marvin Hagler does. Or does he Kevin?

Featherfisted Ishida stopped a better version of Kirkland quicker than Canelo did. We will hear your responses soon.

We all know Felix Sturm was robbed against Oscar. Or was he Louis? Btw, does Sturm beat all of those guys too? Are we talking about styles making fights again?

Is it only me that notices a pattern here?

37th and 38th fights respectively. Not exactly wet behind the ears.

He has gotten bigger? Really? Weren't all of those fights for 154 pound straps? You might have been better off writing that he has been rehydrating better in recent times. Or maybe he has put on more muscle and finds it more difficult to make 154. Just for the record, Hatton has said that welter Kell Brook was better than 154 pound Canelo. But then again, maybe Kell has stayed the same since then while Canelo has gotten better. It's just Hatton's opinion, right?

Do you notice the pattern here, or is it just me?

Mayweather has nothing to keep Hagler off of him, even the pretty shot version that Leonard fought. May was never a big puncher at 147 whereas Leonard was a banger at that weight.

Yeah, that's it-- Canelo just rehydrates better now than he did when he was 20. Are you being serious?

Canelo gets more love than he deserves around here.

Reread the post. You wrote Canelo has gotten bigger than when he fought Hatton. Weren't those bouts all at the 154 limit? Is it because he rehydrated better or has put on more muscle? Are you being serious? I don't remember him going up in weight then. Have I missed something?

What is your basis for the highlighted statement?

Either way, your logic seems questionable. Because these guys survived punches from Hagler they walk through Canelo? That's not how it works, especially when you're cut-prone like Antuofermo.

How is that questionable logic? Why, do you believe Canelo punches anywhere as near as hard as Hagler?

Vito, cut prone as he was, still went 15 with Hagler. Just for ****s and giggles, you believe Canelo goes 15 with Hagler?
