Kevin, do you think that Duran should have been disqualified for the fight ending foul that he landed on Buchanan's testicle like Monzon should have been according to you, for the rabbit punch he got Tonna with?
Ken had to get an op on his ball because of that punch. When he eventually met Duran years later he said to Duran that he thinks about him every time he goes for a pee lol
He hasn't named Hearns the biggest puncher because he still can't remember being hit by the fcuker....
Duran could have been disqualified way before the nut shot. He was forcing his head into Kens face every time he pinned him on the ropes, even going up on his toes for extra effect. Duran was a savage animal that night. Never to be denied.
One of the greatest shots ever thrown in a boxing ring. The fact Duran was on the end of it adds to his legacy lol
Some open up and are really honest. Others are like George Chuvalo and have you cringing with embarrassment.
Duran threw the nutshot in response to Ken throwing 2 punches clearly after the bell had rung. Cholo was definitely possessed that night.
I never said that Monzon should have been disqualified... At the very least, this one should have been a no-contest. I don't care how inferior you've been all night, you shouldn't ever lose a fight because your opponent nailed you in the groin after the bell and you were physically unable to continue.
Maybe, but Cholo threw the nutshot in response to Ken throwing 2 punches clearly after the bell had rung to end the round.
Regarding Buchanan it appears that the punch was about to be thrown when the ref inadvertently grabbed Duran as he was in the course of thrown the punch, that is why it turned out to be a groin punch. I don't believe it was intentional. As to who hit harder, I have this theory that when a fighter gets knocked out, it doesn't really hurt, it's just lights out, as such they don't remember it being a painful experience. But when a fighter gets hit and isn't knocked out but is significantly hurt he's in a better state to understand how painful it is. This is the only explanation I can come up with to explain why so may fighters don't pick knock out punches as the hardest punches they've received. Chuvalo said the hardest punch he was hit with was De John.
