the thread wouldnt have gone this long had one of them been able to fault leonard's performance in his prior bout w Duran; things like his legs were shot, he took punishment on the ropes, etc

But, nothing that even touches the subject of that fight.

It was like reading Sport's Illustrated coverage of Leonard's bout with Norris. No details of ANY SORT covering the fight itself, but instead, we get 5 pages recounting Leonard's "glorious career". beginning from the olympics

In fact, it is this same writer who made famous by now, Leonard's achievement over his opposition and their combined wins; Duran, benitez, Kalule, Hagler, Hearns

BUT, if you have the article, notice that he doesnt go near the subject of the fight he's SUPPOSE to be covering! Then, this writer had the temerity to write that Norris- srl was a 4 point fight atsch

That's just like all srl fans; they keep their mouths shut once the other side bring up less flaterring facts

I still havent seen one of them denounce the fact that Lalonde was no 2 division champion

Magoo though, will refer me to such polls which is no surprise considering his lack of integrity. he simply refer me to others like himself who lack integrity and then hopes for the best.

With Magoo, He'll say that the cut suffered by Ray made him soft for the Norris bout.

one cut becomes multiple cuts and if Leonard boxes well enough to win 12/12, Magoo translates that as "Ray was shot to ****" and tells me that he resembled Ali from the Trevor Berbick fight atsch atsch

to him, four fights including Bonds, & Kalule, becomes "one of the greatest runs in history"


I look at it this way, if rey were half the fighter they say he is, he'd have had no problem beating Terry but seeing the way he was exposed in that fight, I became even more adamant in my opinion of him

Ray is the kind of guy that would wait 5 whole yrs for another fighter to soften up .

Add to the fact that lennard was never able to deal with movers and had his opponents hand picked as slow, straight ahead plodders

that's why there was never a prime Hagler fight, and even when he WAS fighting, we never saw a Nunn fight who everyone knows was the true champion of the middleweights

lennard FEARED speedy opponents and while I'm at it, let me ask once again why Norris - srl should not be compared with Mayweather - Cotto?
