What was his " prime " weight sh!t for brains? Not 147 by any chance?

Were you conceived in an institution for the mentally incapable? Only one hears stories about inmates from opposite s,exes getting together if left unsupervised.

    Fact.

Leonard spent 5 years TALKING about fighting Hagler, but BY HIS OWN ADMISSION only made the fight after watching from ringside Hagler / Mugabi, and noticing Hagler's legs were " gone " compared to even 83, never mind his prime.

But hey, who gives a fuk what Leonard had to say about it, when the internet is swarming with stupid fanboys like you, who think they know better.:patsch

Nice to see you jump so hastily to the defense of a creature that was banned from this site for making a lewd comment about my 3 YEAR OLD ( at the time ) grandson and my d.i.c.k.

I consider such vermin as either definite, or wannabe child molesters and treat them accordingly. If you don't that is your business, not mine. As for him or anyone else threatening me on this site I remain totally unconcerned, whether it be some young buck who fights out of Amir Khan's gym, or some Canadian numpty who claims among other things to be a " Jamaican drug dealer " ( his stereotyping, no one else's ) and all sorts of other irrelevant garbage.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

That's the best part of this whole thread Rooster. 44 pages and NOT ONE of his soppy fanboys has been able to tell us exactly what Leonard did at 154 to make them think he beats any title holder at that weight not named Kalule.

I love it. Reminds me of that fairy tale with the big bad wolf. " I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down."

That is all they have got, huff, and puff, but less than fuk all to back their claims up regarding their hero at Light Middle.

Same way you have not produced any logical piece of info about how Norris beats 1981 or aka PEAK SRL..

I'll ask you again. Were you conceived in an institution for the mentally handicapped?

We don't NEED to prove what Norris could or couldn't have done to Leonard in any given year. We saw what he did to the over matched numpty when they DID fight.

We also know how many world title fights at 154 Norris had, and the win, loss stats are far far better than Leonards.

    DOH, :roll::roll::patsch

Yeah sure... Never mind the fact that Leonard beat better fighters than Norris ABOVE 154 as well as ones BELOW 154, but some how 154 Happens to be his magic soft spot in the middle.. Like the center of a jelly filled donut. Hell even the one guy he did beat at 154 ( Ayoub Kalule ) was more proven at that weight than Simon Brown, Keith Mullings or Luis Santana who Terry lost too...

    Good post.

Leonard didn't fight much at 154 lbs. in his prime due to some unusual circumstances.

He was able to get a title fight without having to test himself at that weight, because of his name and the $$ he could bring to the table.

Then, he dropped right back down and beat Hearns.

Then, he got the detached retina.

If not for the detached retina and the early retirement, he likely

would have fought at 154 lbs some more.

There's no reason to believe he couldn't have done well there in the 1982-1984 time frame, unless, maybe if Hagler ruined him. I surmise that even if Hagler beat him, it would have been a competitive fight and not career ending.

Foxy is being a bit myopic here. Yes, Leonard only beat Kalule but that fight alone showed that Leonard could be very formidable at 154 lbs.

Also, Kalule was looked at as better than Hope. Kalule, whatever the revisionists are saying now, was deemed the best 154 lb. guy in the World at the time Leonard beat him.

It was not seen as some easy setup fight for Leonard, at the time.

Foxy makes the inane statement that Leonard beating only Kalule means that there is no evidence "Leonard could beat ANY other 154 titlist", let alone Norris. As if there have been NO 154 champions since then that were worse than Kalule, or that the speed, power, strength and resilency Leonard showed on that night would not serve him well against other 154 lb titlists. It's not like he barely beat Kalue, either. There is room in there to see he would be compeititive with later 154 lb titlists who were better than Kalule.

He would have been fine at 154 between 1982-1984.. Especially considering that he had already beaten most of that division's best participants who frequented it within that time frame, i.e Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, and Wilfred Benitez. Sure Hearns might have improved in "some" aspects when moving up. But Duran and Benitez certainly didn't. And Leonard would give Hearns a great fight at a much higher weight class years later after spending most of the decade inactive. Hell Tommy is even viewed as quite possibly the "greatest Jr. Middle" that ever lived by some.. Sugar Ray beat him just months before he took on that weight class, and as mentioned, fought him to a close verdict in 1989 at over 160. But somehow he always fails against Norris, right?
