Dino, you should really learn to read. I personally said Vitali was never KNOCKED OUT, I didn't say anything about knock downs.
Which merely goes to show you have far more tolerance than I do. However I suspect that after reading enough threads / posts stating that every two bob, junkie, alcoholic, burger munching fat slop, draft dodging, ( they are particularly fond of that one when referring to Jack Dempsey, unless of course he fights a NON Yank ) lowlife Murican easily beats every other Heavyweight from Schmelling through to Lewis, and the K2 brothers primarily because they are NOT Muricans, you might well become less tolerant.
The same way he always did by firing back himself. Hence the exchanges. How many exchanges do you think Vitali can survive.
Actually I think that Foreman will find himself outgunned in this one. I think that in this clash of iron chinned, hard punching men, the guy with the 25lb weight advantage and straighter punches is going to come out on top. That being Klitschko, in case I have to spell it out. But let's not forget that Vitali, who could slug it out if he had to, has a Plan A as well. That being to fight tall, control distance and land his very accurate 1-2 on the counter. Foreman has no such technical mastery to fall back on.
You don't see a Morrison-Mercer type situation where Foreman starts gassing and quickly goes down the drain?
He has his plan A, but I think Foreman can force him into a war. Once in that war I don't see how Vitali will be able to out gun him with straight shots when Foreman is throwing hooks and uppercuts.
It is a possibility. That's Vitali's realistic shot of winning, if he can outlast Foreman. But considering Foreman threw none stop hay makers for 7 rounds against Ali I think that is a good bench mark of his stamina. So can Vitali survive 7 rounds of exchanges with Foreman? Not imo. But he has a better chance of that then of keeping Foreman at distance for the fight imo.
One thing to consider about the Ali fight in comparison was that Ali was landing laser beam rights for the entire fight and he weighed less than Vitali. If Vitali landed that shot it would be more of a problem and the extra weight would tire Foreman. Those things might mean less if Vitali fought him in reasonable weather and not sweltering heat.
I'd say that Vitali not possessing Ali's ability to throw "laser beam rights" would be a bigger factor than the weather conditions.
Vitali has excellent accuracy. That's one of the reasons, imho, that he doesn't hit as hard as his frame suggests he could. He seemed to focus more on landing the blow on target and retaining enough of his balance to avoid getting counterpunched than on doing raw damage.
Really? A comparison between Vitali and Ali, in respect to how a bout with ['70s] Foreman might turn out, makes more sense, does it? - Does the fact that Vitali's best opponent was a once elite-level Heavyweight (then old, out of condition and disinterested), who he lost to, not make sense to you? - Does the fact that Vitali supporters using Sanders, Peter and even Briggs as valid comparisons to Foreman, leads to the questioning of such comparisons, not make sense to you? If you want to refer to my consistently held opinion, which you cannot seem to comprehend, as a trend then so be it. But it has not deviated and really is quite straightforward... - Vitali Klitschko never fought anyone of the level of Foreman (not even in the Lewis bout) - Klitschko supporters rely on the size argument, as if such relative differences in height and weight have not been experienced in the sport before. - To supplement the size argument, Klitschko supporters extrapolate and draw conclusions from Vitali's ledger, beyond reason; somehow believing that the level of opposition he faced is a suitable gauge of how his skills would fair against elite opposition. - Based partially on the above, Klitschko fans mythologize Vitali's skillset, making inappropriate comparisons with past elites, e.g. 'look at what Ali did to George with "laser beam rights" (obviously Vitali could replicate this...)' The above does not make grounds for a strong argument in Klitschko's favor, in any universe. If that doesn't make sense to you - that really is your problem.
