Nah, that was a clear round for stevenson. Ramirez won the 1st and could have been scored for Stevenson, and the 3rd round was what won him the Gold. Shakur didn't do enough that round and the judges were persuaded by the boxer trying to make a fight out of it. The decision was spot on.
yeh i agree but i think the second could have gone to ramirez as well, badlefthook had it 3-0 for ramirez, so did i, and ur right even ward lou dibella all admitted it was a good decision, these americans on social media are going crazy because they lost they can't take it at all, and there's nothing to be ashamed of losing to someone that good
Infinite energy means infinite mass and the technical speed of light.. The Flash can go faster though.. and back in time..
Finally saw todays events. Ramirez edged Stevenson just as I thought. Ramirez's versatility is just too much for Stevenson to compute and just a better boxer but damn, Stevenson looked awesome despite losing. He was using a lot of pro quirks which confused Ramirez at times. This is a Ramirez who had 5 bouts against Stevenson who had 2 bouts, and Ramirez was not as hungry as he was in 2012. Great accomplishment of being a 2xOlympic Gold, by a great fighter. Stevenson will only get better, he is USA's future star. They must get behind him. To have a very close fight with Ramirez although definitely losing, you should have no doubt that he's going to be an awesome fighter in the pros. Melikuziev did better against Arlen Lopez than last year's final without a doubt, he definitely deserved the first round, but a definite victory for Arlen Lopez. Arlen Lopez should turn pro, he would give Golovkin problems.
stevenson is the slickest american I've seen for years you could see his skill defensively ramirez knew he was a skilled boxer, imagine ramirez and shakur are both being signed by floyd bit weird that since they have that rivalry and all
See Lomachenko balling his eyes out after losing the gold medal match at the world champs in 2007 as a 19 year old. That is because they HATE to lose, and that is a very positive thing for an athlete. Very good signs for the kid.
I had Ramirez and Lopez winning, with them both dropping the second rounds to their opponents. Stevenson looks legit, a very smooth athlete/boxer. I just hope he doesn't try to emulate Floyd too much as a pro with the safety first potshot style. Shakur was too conservative/defensive on that final round, which is what lost him the bout. Ramirez has never been too pleasing to watch for me, he lacks explosiveness. Lopez isn't a pleasing fighter to watch either IMO, he covers up too much and only really responds with single shots instead of combinations with variety. I thought he beat Melikuziev more easily than their previous contest, Melikuziev looked beaten before the fight had started IMO. He got into it in the second round but the judges still gave it to Lopez. Melikuziev is used to physically dominating and overwhelming opponents, when he can't do that he gets a bit too wild and can't think his way through. In his previous bouts I was thinking he had added some nuances to his boxing game and had improved but against Lopez he looked like a dumb brawler. He would make a great pro to watch.
Yeah that comment about La Cruz being better than Lomachenko killed all of his credibility really. La Cruz is great at what he does but when it comes to being a complete boxer, let's get real.
