Joyce looks terrible to me. He never jabs which I just don't understand. His punches are slow, he's off balance half the time he throws the left hook and he's open to shots. The only reason why he is winning is because the rest of the SHWs are so poor. His bodywork is good but the opponents have awful gas tanks and end up being overpowered. It's horrific to watch tbh, he just bludgeons the life out of his opponent while missing half the shots he throws. He gets Tony Thompson'd in the pros, mark my words.
You are right, luckily for Joyce almost all of the rest of the SHW division is even worse. The pro ranks at HW aren't much better either. Just goes to show that being a huge monster is now more important than skill. Lets put it this way, how far do you reckon Joyce would get in boxing if he was only 6ft 2"and 15 stone? The French lad he has got in final isn't anything special either but what sets him apart is he he has a bit of speed, agility and athleticism to go with his size. Joyce still has a good chance of bludgeoning his way to victory though, although if it goes the distance I reckin he will get robbed.
Some of the nonsense people post is amazing. "What would he be like if he were 6ft 2 and 15 stone?" - a completely different fighter obviously.
If he dips his hands in petrol beforehand for 20 minutes to harden them like his namesake he has a chance.
I thought he looked awful when I watched him shadow boxing and hitting the pads but he's really effective especially over the short 3 round distance. His body punching is actually really good as well which you don't really see much of at that weight.
Exciting fighter to watch, very flawed though, been beat by this man before I hope he can pull it off this time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Obviously his style is effective, he has a 1-1 record against the frenchman so fingers crossed for him.
You guys keep saying the random things but he jabbed and barxed the man you all said etc.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuJ3_kLQi7E
Very robotic and found himself in a weak division in Rio! Hopefully he can claim the Gold for GB though. Don't see him cutting at a pro when he turns over
He could challenge Joshua in his first 8 fights.. he wouldn't even bother with 6 rounders turning pro.. being in the WSB.. That's the illusion of Lomo.. got whipped by the Brazilian and fought pro matches in WSB.. His record is more like 10 pro fights..
That last fight looked like a pub brawl, all size and no skill. Still, it's better than women's boxing which shouldn't be at the Olympics at all. I heard Nicola Adams say she's now Britains most successful ever Olympic boxeratsch Please stfu.
Well Yoka seems to have somehow made an impression on the judges. I can't see him losing in the final regardless of what actually transpires in the ring.
