Brook, the idiot that destroyed his career going in to a slaughter by his own will. I really hope he doesnt get permanent damage, and that he can be the same after the fight. But there are chances that it will not happen and that he will never be the same after that.

What an idiot playing with his future.

Tbf many of Golovkin's past opponents haven't suffered permanent damage.

If you're not brave enough to fight tough, dangerous opposition, you shouldn't be a boxer imo.

I wish we had more boxers like Brook who are willing to fight anyone and less guys who cherry pick and duck.

Tbf, no ggg's past opponent was a welterweight.

To fight a beast that is 2 divisions above yours, is not to be brave, is to be idiot. If you are idiot enough to do things like that, actually you deserve whatever it happens to you. And I'm glad that there are not so many boxers like brook or khan, so that the good talents can offer us a wonderful, long and good quality career.

Brook is pretty much a LMW in size and many fighters have moved up one or more weight divisions without ruining their careers.

There are often much bigger size differences in the heavyweight division.

Brook isn't really that much smaller than some of Golovkin's previous opponents who didn't sustain any permanent damage.

True but that's a big IF. Congrats to him showing more courage than Canelo, Eubank, Saunders, Sergio, Quillan and few others

Just like Danny Green became an ATG by knocking out a geriatric version of RJJ.

It probably instantly drops ggg'z status in the rankings from 3 to completely off the chart. (By losing to a Welterweight *belt holder) in conjunction prob only elevating Brook into the top tier 15 (11?)... Maybe cracking top 10. (Based on GEE losing to him... it's a jacked up thing, But beating Golovkin would actually end up being about G'z performance not being as good or what people expected from him instead of what Brook did)

Obviously it's completely subjective but if he beat Golovkin I would put him top 5, maybe top 3.

Brook beating Gennady Golovkin at 160 is better then any win mayweather or Pac or any fighter in the last decade has in terms of toughness of the challenge to win

This is not the best fighter in your division brook is fighting the best fighter in his division 2 weight classes up and the hardest puncher in the sport

Mayweather or Pac have NEVER fought someone as big and as powerful as Gennady Golovkin not even close he makes them look like boys in the ring

Brain damage usually occurs over the long haul. Brook will probably get stopped in the mid rounds before any noticable long term damage occurs.
