The money isn't there for Brook anymore. The fight is still there but even Eddie has stated that the commercial value of the fight has diminished now and making money is his sole interest. People don't care about the fight anymore. Khan's purse for that fight has fallen significantly so if all Khan cares about is money, it wasn't a smart move was it?

I think you have a point with McGregor but every boxer around that weight is chasing Pac and Floyd. Most boxers try to get the fights that will pay the most, that's just standard practice imo and part of fighting for a living.

I'd say at least 10/15%. Due to Khan's ego he would have been the A-side in that fight with the lion's share of the purse but now Eddie and Brook would surely demand nothing less than an equal split.

Well Khan was offered $5m and turned it down so even if you go to your top estimate and say he "only" makes $3.5m that's still more than his Canelo purse.

I just can't see how you think it wasn't a cash out. It was a smart move to make good money with no major downside and at the same time keep big fights at 147 available.
