UFC is a centralized corporation which makes fighters fight. I gotta respect that from one angle where the fighters actually fight eachother and no ducking. It's a brand where boxing is ingrained as a sport.

Too many hands in the pies in boxing. Too many belts. That's the big problem in boxing imo. Too much riding on the 0. Which really sucks.


The funny thing is that UFC fanboys like bashing on boxing when the most predominant thing thrown in MMA/UFC is a punch. All the knockouts at UFC 202 were from punches and even the Cerrone combo was a punch which really hurt Story not the kick.


The UFC seems to like riding on the coat tails of boxing constantly having advetisements for boxing movies, talking about mayweather etc.

And another big ''myth'' is the mma glove 4 oz prevents proper punching power like with a boxing glove, and guys like Golovkin would be ineffective.

And the swimming pool of UFC fighters is so small. Their p4p no. 1 was a long time ped cheat who eye pokes constantly.

They just don't get a lot of pro boxers have kickboxing, wrestling backgrounds etc... disrespectful mofos

 

I don't know if you can really say that. MMA was more popular at it's peak a decade ago when guys like Chuck Liddel were insanely popular.


I'm willing to bet if Chuck Liddel was fighting in todays UFC infrastructure with as popular as he was back then he would have gotten bigger Paydays than Mcgregor.

 

You remove McGregor from the equation and the casuals vanish.

CM Punk the WWE wrestler will help them as WWE will crossover and watch.

boxing is king of sports to me, but i enjoy other combat sports as well. i see the quality of the fighters and the presentations improving more and more in ufc.
im telling you, theres a generation of kids who started mma when they were 6, that are going to hit the scene in the next 10 years. the skill level is going to explode just from the size of the skilled fighter pool.

 

People say quite the opposite don't they. Chris Algieri would be a huge puncher in MMA with those gloves, add his Kickboxing background and he would be better than McGregor on day 1

but he did well cashing in 13mil in 1 fight whereas he probably struggled to clear 100k in a single fight in the last 10yrs apart from their first fight

 

I reckon he would be. That might be a good place for Algieri to go honestly. I don't see any reason for him to really continue being a journeyman in boxing when he could probably to relatively better in UFC. Although, of course the paydays will be better ''i think'' in boxing as a journeyman type.

Yeah, i mean it's hard to say. I think Algieri would obviously hit harder but i believe guys like Julian Jackson would ****. Or the more technically precision punchers would do well in UFC imo. I just can't stand the fanboyism mostly. I like UFC as its fun to watch. I just think their fans like to discredit boxing quite often when the predominant martial art used is boxing in UFC.

But the Diaz bros were never the best at anything. They were just fairly exciting, but their records are worse than Orlando Salido's and people around here talk about him like he's a bum. Nate Diaz is 30-11. Orlando Salido is 43-13-4.
