He went way beyond anything that Jones did at both!

There was only one heavyweight title when Conn came along, and it was inconveniently held by Joe Louis.

Conn’s accomplishment of beating #1 ranked contender Bob Pastor, is arguably better than Jones beating Ruiz.

Sure he can. I think that Jones would beat him but it would be a hell of a fight.

I'm not basing this on any specific fight. I'm extrapolating from his incredible speed & reflexes, excellent timing, and very good power, and the manner in which he dominated a number of talented fighters throughout his prime.

What comparative advantages would you give Conn in this matchup?

You're comparing John Ruiz to Joe Louis? That title was as worthless as a trinket in a C r a c k e r jack box.

In theory yes. Jones could beat Louis, Marciano, Frazier, Dempsey, Tunney, Liston, and many more greats. In reality though he lost to guys like Green, Lebedev, Tarver, and Johnson.

In reality, he was never the same after he lost 20 pounds shortly before his 35th birthday. Also in reality, those guys have absolutely nothing to do with my comment so I'm not sure why you are replying to me.
