Because size doesn't mean everything. I don't get what is so hard about that. If a 150 lb guy beats on a 250 lb guy for 60 seconds straight do you think that the 250 lb won't get knocked out? A welter could knock out a heavyweight all it takes is 1 punch. If I gained 100 lbs my chin wouldn't get much better aside from an increase in neck muscle perhaps.
Seriously though...Louis wins. No way he loses to someone as one-dimensional as Tua with Blackburn in his corner. He would glide around the ring like he did against Baer, snapping out the jab and exploiting Tuas defensive deficiencies with his textbook perfect power punching. I think Tua would shell up after a few moments of early success, and coast towards an UD loss.
Why did Tua not knock out Friday Ahunanya Robert Hawkins Krishna Wainwright (207 lb) Lester Jackson Everton Davis Sean Hart (210) Jeff Wooden (209) Maybe Tua was paid off? Mysteries indeed!
Tua had 9 men go the distance with him in 59 fights 5 of them when he was 37 or older for a 73ko% so he obviously didn't punch that hard. Remind me again who Louis was koing when he was 37 years old?
I disagree. Tua was a great puncher. I'm just putting Tua's knockout ability through the filter of kevins impossible standards for comparative reasons.
I have no problem whatsoever with people picking Louis over Tua, even though I personally think the fight would be a very shaky proposition for Joe. Louis was a cruiserweight-sized heavy with slow feet and a pregnable chin. Those attributes could pose serious dangers for him against large heavyweights who are powerful and explosive. It is what it is. But I can agree to disagree with people who put forth sensible arguments and explanations for their views. My only gripe is with the way over-the-top fanboys describe Louis and the ridiculous predictions about how the fight might unfold. Louis is going to tame Tua with his jab and movement?? Kill him with his speed? Knock him out at any time? Louis is the bestest, most accurate puncher of all time with knockout power in every punch but relatively ordinary little contenders went 10-15 with him? Just pains me to see grown men talking about individual athletes like they're comic book super heroes. Oh and I guess I also have a grip with the boxrec warriors who think that all h2h matchups can be resolved by looking at records and rankings.
You're missing the point. I never described Tua like he was some kind of super hero with Floyd Mayweather's accuracy and knockout power in every punch.
This matters none whatsoever. Louis was a top 3 heavyweight in his prime whereas Tua was above average consistently. This doesn't matter when it comes to prime for prime match up.
If none of your other posts on this forum have demonstrated this yet then this one definitely does that ydksab.
You sound paranoid. Louis was the most accurate heavyweight puncher in history. This is a fact. Educate yourself, before donating your pity towards people that use data and facts to support their arguments.
According to a study by CompuBox, for boxers with film available during their prime, Louis and Mayweather are the two most accurate boxers in history.
