He was crafty in a street fighter way for sure but I don't see that crouch and lunge stuff working against big men who are more adept at sticking & moving and controlling the distance of their fights. (nothing to do with Tua--just an observation)

Where in my post did I describe Tua as the underlined?

You have a habit of making a statement being corrected and ignoring the correction. As in the one you made on the Louis v Tua thread.

"If Nova's era was poor than Tua's was on welfare".

    One question.
What does Galento do better than Tua?

Boy. You have a habit of forgetting what you just posted.

I look at this fight and I think.
Could Galento outbox Tua to take a decision? The answer I get is no.
Could he stop him ? No.
Could Tua outbox Galento ? Yes.
Could he stop him ? By tko on cuts yes.
Who has the better record? Tua.
Who is the more skilled? Tua.
    Who hits harder? Tua.
    Who has the better chin?Tua.
    Who is faster?Tua.
Who has the better footwork? Tua.
Who has the better defence? Tua.
Who has the better two fisted power? Tua.
Therefore who wins the fight? Tua.

You're saying Tua could outbox Galento, had good footwork, stop him, had good power, and had better defense.

Those are the qualities of a boxer AND a puncher. Read your own posts before replying to mine.

Decent according to whom? To people who were actually there and seen him fight and were well aware of the heavyweight situation in general? Care to post some contemporary quotes?

    .
I'm stating categorically that Tua was a better boxer and better defensively than Galento.
I'm well aware what I wrote, and what you replied.
This is what you "interpreted "my post to say.

I'd like to see a fight of this "skillfully diverse master boxer/puncher"
If I was in a charitable mood I would say you are mistaken, but having read your last to comments I'll say you are being wilfully and deliberately dishonest. Some people resort to that when they are getting their a*se whipped.

Why do you stay lying? I have literally provided YOUR OWN reply and you still deny that you are making the implication that Tua was a diverse master boxer/puncher.

If a fighter can outbox someone as well as out punch and STOP a guy then they are a boxer/puncher. Do you know anything about styles? Your argument makes absolutely no sense. You are making **** up about Tua. Tua had **** footwork, **** hand speed, and never outboxed anyone in his life and that is a FACT.

Some people resort to lying when they're ass is red from being whipped all day.

Can't tell whether you're confused or being dishonest, but saying that someone can outbox Tony Galento does not make him a master boxer/puncher...

Saying the Tua could outbox ANYONE is an even bigger lie.

Lol I'm still laughing over the fact that you thought Buddy Baer actually wasn't ranked when Nova was.

I don't see it have great percentages, but it might well work often enough to give him contendership wins in any era.
Some big skilled guys just have trouble with rough tough awkward brawlers.

Decent according to his record. The man was exceptionally tough and definitely hard-hitting. I don't think he'd even been knocked down in over 100 fights before Louis fought him. That takes some doing. Then he put the champion, who was in his prime, on the floor. That in itself would suggest he was decent fighter.

Decent according to RING magazine and the the NBA, both of whom rated him as the #1 contender to the world's heavyweight championship. That position in itself means you can say you were a decent fighter. Rated by contemporary authorities as the top man behind the champion, whatever the situation, makes you a decent fighter.

Experts who had been there, didn't think him decent. They thought it was absolutely disgraceful that a bar room fighter like Galento was the "best" for Louis to fight. I personally have a hard time finding worse example of the state of affairs in heavyweight division than that.
