he was the former champion, he fought wilder and lost on points so if aj stops him then it gets casuals talking. He's american and hearn has to deliver an opponent which interests the american public with aj signing with showtime... it will sell well.

Joshua's basically a prospect who happens to have a belt. Stiverne's a good opponent for him. Of course, it then follows that Hearn shouldn't big him up as the best in the world, but what do you expect? That's his f---ing job! Still, can understand why people get so p---ed off.

Obviously Hearn is not gony put him in anyone remotely dangerous until he is forced to making crazy money off him
It's dissapointing as fans view would actualy like see him tested ie a povetkin even tho can't stand him even haye But hate when ppl say Stiverne a god step up compared to what absolute buns who have had basicly no chance of winning
Realistic only guys want see him next with klitscho fury poevetjin wilder Parker Ortiz or worst haye. That's 7 difficult fights for Joshua none a would have him as a fav right now as chin still unsure but that realistic is a year a way at least 2 defences before prob Stiverne then chisora or price after they pick up wins

It will sell well and as said previous no way Hearn risks him losing moment he will ruin Stiverne we all want see Joshua decent opponent but that be a while yet

Joshua is still relatively inexperienced and is being moved along at a reasonable pace. Patience is so lacking in fans these days.

This fight hasn't even been announced, it's still between Stiverne & Pulev, looking more likely to be Pulev.

Stiverne hasn't been confirmed as Joshua's next opponent, it's still between him & Pulev, just people getting ahead of themselves, it's looking more likely to be Pulev, much better opponent.

I don't have a problem with stiverne or pulev, at least they are proven and will give AJ plenty of rounds.

I think hearn would prefer it to be stiverne but as he's with don King I reckon they are asking too much, more than likely to be pulev but he may not want to travel

Everyone Joshua fights and beats is a bum, apparently.

I thought Sugar 88 was the only racist on here that hated Joshua, seems not.

The thing is with people saying "he'd still just a prospect regardless of the IBF belt" ..... whatever happens in Anthony Joshua's career - whether he is hugely succesful or whether his career turns disastrous - most of the same people will be counting these fights as "world title defences" when arguing the strength of his legacy.

The excuse now is that they are "learning fights", but in the future they will be held up as legitimate world title wins.

You can't have it both ways.
But don't get me wrong, Deontay Wilder is an even worse case.

Exactly. Spot on. He is a world champion so of course fans can expect him fight better opponent than he has been Stiverne isn't a bum but is well past his best and isn't active hasn't looked good in a long time

And for others to say ppl r racist coz they don't like Joshua is pathetic.
Personally don't mind aj but don't like how much pr machine he's become would be better if but personallty he says same thing over over similar may weather did. Ppl can also criticise Joshua and level of opponent and still like him aswell fuk sake

He has a choice between Parker or Pulev. Anything else is BS to milk casuals.
