Is Conor McGregor bad for boxing

I dont think so. Those who love boxing, love boxing. They can watch any other contact sport every now and then, but who loves boxing loves boxing.

And there will never be a Louis, Ali, Leonard, Durán, Dempsey in any other contact sport.

Chávez is a GOD in mexico. Argüello was a GOD in Nicaragua. Durán is a GOD in Panamá. Pacman is a GOD in the philipines. Just like Maradona is in Argentina. No other contact sport can achieve that.

Bad for boxing? He's great for the UFC but can't see how that makes him a threat to the sweet science.

Boxing is bad for boxing. No other sport could survive the vermin who run it.

The organizations ruling boxing resemble third world banana republic governments bilking both fans and Fighters alike. They have rendered championship titles meaningless by propagating the number of so-called titles and standing in the way, along with the promoters, of allowing the best matches to occur in a timely manner.

While the UFC is far from perfect it is at least created an environment in which big fights happen and there is a body, while flawed, looks out for the sport.

He's their only marquee guy but it could all end tomorrow like with Rousey.

 

That ended because of her mental breakdown after the fight, not the loss itself... Look at how McGregor bounced back after the loss to Diaz. He's not going anywhere.

Also, to add to the Rousey vs Conor comparison, look what Conor did after he lost to Diaz... brings in experts and makes adjustments to his diet and training regiment.

I think Rousey's "mental breakdown" resulted from her inability, or difficulty to see that the people she surrounded herself with were not the best choices for her position (with her resources and position in the UFC). I think the ideas of pride and loyalty hindered her intelligence.

Where as Conor had the mental capacity to instantly see what he did wrong and proceeded accordingly.

No small feat. The guy is magical.

He's already lost, and there's an even BIGGER demand for him.

 

Ufc is desperate for big fights, boxing is stable

 

Yeah he was submitted like most all novice mma practitioners, but I think he's more hype than substance. Maybe not as bad as Rousey albeit.
