    12 championship rounds.
Does everyone believe the only way for Kovalev to win this fight is by KO/TKO?
Can Kov out point Ward? I doubt it.

    Ward, 8 rds to 4.

I think Kovalev is a better boxer than many credit him too and I dont think Ward is anywhere near the level he was at when he beat Froch and Dawson

I favor Kovalev and by stoppage. I think theres a chance Ward could even be leading but I dont think he is capable of keeping Kovalev at bay all night and Kovalev really doesnt need to land clean or often to do real damage.

Chilemba was pretty difficult for 6 or 7 rounds then he went down and the fight was strategically over. He had Hopkins strategically done after a few minutes then it was kind of cat and mouse after that.

I dont see Ward as fast enough to evade for 12 rounds, strong enough to muscle Kovalev like he did at 168 or sharp enough offensively to keep Kovalev honest. Ward hasnt really had a test at 175 and its hard to know where his conditioning is, where his defense is. Vs Brand he had a guy totally out gunned and to me failed to impress offensively.

I favor Kovalev but not completely comfortably almost like a Hopkins scenario even late in his career I had a hard time picking against a guy so skilled, almost like you had to finally see it to believe it but I think Kovalev is the favorite in my mind

we will see though, I'm hoping to see Ward really turn back the clocks and fulfill what it looked like he was going to be in 2012

You are assuming there that it will go the distance.

You guys talk like Kovalev is relentless for 12 rounds. Ward lacks power, sure, but that doesn't mean Kovalev will carelessly walk him down for 12 rounds. Sergey will want to avoid taking shots, not because it hurts, but because he can lose the fight if he's hit too much.

i said he boxes better than given credit for, he was very careful against Hopkins getting in and getting out after landing

my point isnt Kovalev pressuring Ward constantly but having the power to end a fight with one shot and Ward in my eyes not capable of doing what he used to be able to do

its not so much Kovalev relentlessly wearing him down but more so it being a close fight where Ward may even be ahead but gets clocked

The majority of Ward's fights do.

Based on his fights against lesser fighters like Agnew, Pascal and Chilemba, I'll bet the fight goes the distance.
Sure Kovalev knocked them down, but they ain't Ward. Ward won't be in a shell like Agnew or throwing wild ass windmill punches like Pascal.

For those who believe Ward's punches can't hurt Kovalev, you're crazy and DKSAB!

the fight could go either way. what would be the big deal about it if it were guaranteed to be a one sided blowout?

Yeah I agree with this,I reckon it's gonna be real close like the Frampton v Santa Cruz, that was a 50/50 fight and I believe this is given the comments on here for both for Ward and for Kovalev,at the end it's gonna be judged hopefully like the Framton fight where they got it right based on the quality of punches as appose to the volume of punches, both guys don't throw high volume anyway so the judges are gonna have to be on the ball so to speak.

Now subtract a few KD deductions from Ward and you've got the final score.

:nod Make it 4 points off, unfortunately for Ward he won't make it up from the fifth.
