I say Gerrie ices the slow moving Botha in two rounds..Gerrie had deceptive gliding footwork..and of course that right hand..Bothat in his peak was no slouch either..but Gerrie was the better mover..and had the better money shot..and I say he gets there first..clean sparking the white buffalo till sunday.

I think Botha would outslick Coetzer to a decision. Pierre was tough but never quite broke out of the fringe mold, and didn't spend much time even at that level. He also didn't have enough Power to make Frans fold the way that guys Like Tyson, Moorer or Lewis did.

Too bad Pierre is not Gerrie.

Pretty good match up. I'd favor Coetzer as he had better size and skills.

While Botha was more durable, he didn't box well enough to win on points or hit hard enough to give himself a high " puncher's chance "

Coetzer actually looks pretty good in the ring, a lot better than Botha. But Botha got the fights and I daresay has a better resume. Botha has a way of being difficult to deal with and he keeps chugging away. He did OK vs a bunch of real tough guys. Pierre's main problem is that he's a relative featherfist, even though his physique would suggest otherwise. To compensate he's got a hard chin.

I think I'd take Pierre Coetzer on points in what would be an entertaining fight.

I guess I'd pick Botha to out slop Coetzer over the distance, as he was a bit more proven (I might be wrong there however)....but,....I'd take Gerrie Coetzee over either one of them.

Its a tossup either way.. But my hesitation with picking Coetzer is that he traded a win and a loss with an aging Ossie Ocasio, despite having both fights in his own back yard. That kinda makes for a weak case in his favor against Botha, who although was nothing special, at least had some pretty good mix ups with some good fighters.

Botha wins this one. He had the stouter punch by good measure. Coetzer could take it like an anvil, tho. But I dare say, Botha was craftier and at his best fought a lot smarter.

Coetzer had an intimidating look about him, but I'll pick Botha who put up spirited performances against some big names. He'd outwork Coetzer.

Coetzer had the more awesome 'stache. That's gotta give him an edge in some manner.

Yes Botha had pretty quick hands too.Coetzer was durable as we can see watching him against, Bowe,Bruno ,and Foreman.

:yep:yep:yep..my bad..its the devil..made me read it gerrie instead of Pierre..:lol:

Now Pierre..I'd say the buffalo had just about everything on Pierre..except maybe handspeed..slicker than him too..for all his assets Pierre was very robotic..bad news when he's in there with a puncher like the white buffalo.

    Botha KO 6.
