Great stuff. Actually went through all of your previous work recently in a binge. Loved it. Thanks for the quality material!
Thanks for sharing! Do you have a breakdown of Tyson post-Cus/Rooney? Curious to see how much he was doing or not doing. He would lose to Douglas in just a few fights post Rooney. Not saying it as the only factor. Sent from my NS-P10A6100 using Tapatalk
It's inevitable, I'm going to do a breakdown on Tyson vs Holyfield 1. I'm probably going to point out things Tyson did in that fight that he didn't used to and vice versa.
when i clicked onto this topic, my guess was it was going to be garbage. Your opening line of Foreman & Shavers being the greatest punchers, convinced me it was a load of rubbish.. Joe Louis & Mike Tyson are most proberbly the hardest heavyweight punchers ever. Who did Shavers ever knock out?
Who did Tyson knock out? Oh yeah, a pensioner and a Light Heavyweight..... Yep, definitely the hardest puncher of all time.....
No disrespect to either Tyson or Louis but they tended to do their best work in combination, but punch for punch Foreman and Shavers were on another level. Shavers KOed Jimmy Young Jimmy Elllis and Ken Norton all in the first round. Shavers was relatively unskilled and rode his power into title fights with 2 top 10 ever heavyweights. Still not sure how Holmes got up after Shavers leveled him with that right hand.:deal
This is probably true. Sharkey who fought both Louis and Dempsey felt Dempsey hit harder. Walcott who fought Louis and Marciano felt punch for punch Rocky hit harder. Both fighters termed Louis a rhythm puncher. Foreman, Shavers, Marciano, Dempsey were all examples of great power punchers. Louis and Tyson were great combo punchers...very powerful but not as one punch capable as others.
