People do realise he's a mandatory who gets 25% regardless and that hyping the fight only benefits Joshua?

    OK let's do some maths.

    25% of 2 million is 500,000

    25% of 4 million is 1,000,000

    So.... you're a dumb ****

Well done for not understanding how negotiations work.:lol::lol:

The major money made is not in the purse, it's in the PPV sales, of which Parker will get nothing.

    You're an idiot.

Well duh. The purse will reflect the total expected takings from ppv, gate sales and television rights offshore. So regardless of what the numbers are 25% of a larger purse means more for Parker.

    Burn!
OP hasn't a clue how the business of boxing works.

I've seen very little of Parker. Looking forward to seeing if he is ready for Joshua

    Completely and utterly wrong.

The purse does not include PPV sales and the like.

    You are staggeringly ignorant.

It's hilarious that someone mocking others for their lack of knowledge can be so ignorant to the most basic aspects of making a fight.

He seems to think that Parker won't have a percentage of PPV sales written into his contract or that if he doesn't he won't ask for a larger guarantee. How he sees Parker coming out with a worse deal post fighting on AJ's undercard - barring a shock loss of course - is beyond the rationale of a normal person.

It's the first and I imagine last time I'll see a fighter ridiculed for wanting to expose himself to a bigger audience one fight before what will probably be the biggest fight of his career.

Seriously, if you think Parker is in the same class as AJ, or ever will be, you're either a Kiwi, blind, or a blind Kiwi.

I'll bet you £500 you cannot find a single shred of evidence of an opposition fighter being paid a % of the PPV revenue on an AJ card.

    Deal?

I can actually see where you are both coming from... he'll get 25% but it will only be mainly from the purse. They argue the pot will be considerably larger if the fight is hyped. You have to remember that win or lose the exposure is always good.

This forum used to actually be good about 5 years ago. ****ing cess pit with ****ing blobby nelson and the troll feeders.

The purse comes out of the budget for the show. Even if the fight gets bigger, the purse for Parker won't increase. Why would it? He brings nothing to the fight, no record, no money, nothing.

They will dance to the AJ tune.

Heard today that Duco events have said if Pulev does not agree terms to fight Joshua in November then Parker will step in to Fight Joshua in November instead of March.

Yes Joshua and Hearn have said the same. Fact is they would prefer to put off Joshua/Parker and allow the fight to build with Parker fighting on the undercard to bring exposure for Parker to UK casual fans who don't know who he is. Casuals seeing Parker KO Price on the undercard will clearly help generate interest in the fight later on.

But if Pulev doesn't happen then both have said they are happy to face off sooner in November. Neither side is ducking the other they are simply wanting as much money as possible for what is clearly the most anticipated fight between 2 young heavies in a long, long time and this means building the fight.

It would also benefit Parker to fight in the UK before he has to face AJ, will allow him to get used to the UK and set up a routine for preparing for Joshua. Why would he want to just be thrown in the lions den when he has the opportunity to check it out first, see what the British crowds are like, get used to fighting in a huge arena for the first time in front of by far the biggest crowd he's ever experienced.
