A lot of Eastern European fighters, or people who fight in the old Soviet amatuer system, are like this. They are usually great athletes, great heart, and very technically skilled, but owe a lot of it to their amatuer training and will struggle when in a dirty pro boxing match. Kostya Tyszu losing to Ricky Hatton is the best example, Kostya needed space and time to pick his shots, which is why (like GGG) he was such a brutal knockout puncher, his timing was supreme. However against Hatton, despite being the better fighter in every objective way, he never got chance to get settled, he was made uncomfortable by Hatton's aggressive swarming almost Mexican way of fighting, he couldn't get his offense going and he lost as a result.

Brook isn't like Hatton at all stylistic, and it's a brave man who chooses to go head first into GGG hoping to smother him like Hatton did Tszyu, but I think that sort of tactic is the best way to beat him.

ggg v brook (and) canelo v khan

2 diff fights, khan showed it was possible to win against canelo but we knew that his glass jaw is biggest issue. he went 6 rounds, which is not bad but he had a chance

brook has no chance period. welterweight jab aint gonna scare ggg, watch ifl vids. media work out....ggg's punches look like rockets, meanwhile brook's look like pitty patt punches (khan style)

ok I'm new here. I haven't posted regularly on a boxing forum in years . Here is what I posted elsewhere about the upcoming fight..

I've been studying GGG's fights the past couple weeks and He's not invincible. It's gonna take well placed shots, usda random testing, and combinations to beat him. Here is how Kell Brook can win..

    1. As soon as the bell rings, run and jump on him. he's not expecting that. GGG has built a level of invincibility and guys are afraid of him. So afraid that when they throw punches, they don't sit on him out of fear what's coming back them. So they try to box and punch going backwards. There aint many guys I've seen in boxing history that can get respect and hurt guys going backward and Ali is one of them. Kell Brook aint Ali.

    2. When he runs and jumps on him as the bell ring, he has to fight in the clinches thruout the fight. Jab, clinch, body shot, clinch, jab, move, in out. Don't constantly move the whole fight and don't constantly stay in for 36 mintues. Mix it up. That will confuse him cuz GGG has fought everyone that just goes back until the inevitable ko happens. GGG has power. We all know that, but he's not a great infighter. If he gets you on the end of his punches, he can hurt you, but he infights like Jeff Lacy(and that's how Calzhagge beat him in a fight I predicted an easy Calzagghe win).

    3. Body shots and upperercuts.. Golovkin can be hurt to the body. In his fight with Murray, he was dominanting, had hurt Murray and when Murray decided to stand and fight and was too tired to run, he stood there in the pocket and started landing body shots in the 9th that GGG didn't like. Same with the feather fisted Monroe. After getting dropped and starting to tire, he decided to stand and fight(which Roy said he should do). Round 4 Monroe stood right in front of him, made him miss repeatedly, backed him up a bit with his own punches as GGG began to miss with wild punches. Another thing I noticed is that GGG is succeptable to uppercuts. In the Monroe and Stevens fight he was hit with upprcuts due to the way he carries his hands. Tyson was also susceptible to uppercuts with his peek-a-boo style.(buster caught him with one that led to the ko, Lennox caught him with 1 in the 1st round that hurt him, Tucker caught him with one that almost knocked him down in the 1st round). GGG's defense is trash. His offense is his defense. He's very easy to hit but fighters have to sit down on their punches to hurt him.

    4. counterpunching. Golvkin is sloppy. Very sloppy. He doesnt mind getting hit in order to land what he wants. Reminds me of Chavez Sr. Show him angles. throw your punch, side step him and counter his miss. In close because if you're on the end of his punches and he lands, you're ****ed. Guys don't want to counter punch him cuz they're afraid. A trick that can be used is to lure him to the ropes in the middle rounds and feint him. As he throws on your feint, you slip and spin him around placing his back to the ropes and counter him. Monroe did this but he was so terrified, he didn't throw anything.

    5. USDA olympic style testing. I'm sorry, but dude didn't have this power earlier in his career. So now that he's getting older, he's getting more powerful? wtf? I've watched a few youtube channels on this and noticed it in his earlier fights. As one guy pointed out, he's knocking guys down and hurting them from just hitting them on the arm now into his 30s. Yeah, something isn't right.

    6. Bring a gun in the ring.

Canelo has the tools to beat this guy so I don't understand why he is afraid. GGG has power, but Alvarez has power too. GGG has ko power, but Alvarez has that put you to sleep power too. He's pretty good at infighting, throws great body shots, and has the power to get respect because GGG has been hurt before. I just don't understand why he's scared of this guy. He's fought way better competition so I feel he's ready. I really believe GGG's style is made for Alvarez. The way you fight Hagler, you don't fight GGG the same way. With Hagler, you move with him, with GGG, that's what he wants. You have to take the fight tohim and stay in his chest to smother his power because if he keeps you on the end of his punches, you will get knocked out. I don't know if they doing the Mayweather/Pac thing in letting the fight sit on the shelf for a while to create buzz, but i feel Canelo can knock him out.. Either way, I feel Brook is gonna get hurt in 21 days. I don't hate GGG, because even though he's fighting rubbish, he doesn't brag about it. He knows they're garbage.

I like a lot of what you said to be fair to beat GGG you can't fight backing up you need to get on him from the start and need really smother his work like a ward. You need to time him and counter like a canelo but noone has both those skills combined unless you start to move up in weight. GGG would beat canelo coz the guy has lost before he entered the ring and I think canelo doesn't like people going to the body which GGG is great at

neither guy likes body shots. and both are great at it, but I do agree with you that Canelo has somewhat lost going into the ring. I believe he's afraid

I am new here. The mods can check my ip address. I found this site from googling Kell Brook. i was a member of other boxing forums about 10 years ago but I stopped posting there. His defense is trash. He's willing to take 2 or 3 to deliever 1. He's really not a great infighter and he gets sloppy at times going for the homerun? Is it not allowed to tell the truth around here? I criticize every fighter. There has never been a perfect fighter. Even the great SRR and Ali had flaws. Or do you believe GGG is the perfect fighter with no flaws?

Although I don't think your post was biased or anything GGG doesn't have trash defence, against lemieux he was barely touched, but I agree he has a lot if faith in his chin and power so if he feels your punches don't hurt much he will let you get yours off to get off his. Against canelo he would jab him to death because he knows canelo can crack too

I would like to see Brook win, but I don't think he does. I'd also like to see him win fair, because we know how they do over there. Hatton was allowed all type of tactics against Tszyu and we know what Been got away with against Mcclellan. I'd like for Brook to win, but I don't want to see GGG get screwed from shady officiating being swayed by the crowd.

I really think brook will look good in this fight. As long as his feet are good I think he will cause GGG problems. His got excellent timing and GGG let's be honest doesn't move his head.

Where I think brook will eventually get broken down is by body shots but he will be competive until late in the fight.

I hate to say it but Golovkin caves Brook in, I am actually starting to fear for Brooks well being.

I'm British, I want Brook to win and will be flying the flag, I want Brook to put up a good display and if he does put up a solid display I'll be delighted but we have to start being real.

Golovkin has exceptional technique and frightening power, this might have been a good idea at first, Brook stepping in where Eubank Jr was too afraid to step and getting paid very well to do so, sticking two fingers up at Khan and all his doubters but now we are in fight week and the fight is real, it's here and the reality has set in for me and no doubt for Brook, Hearn and all connected to Brook.

Brook is bang in trouble, watch the public workout and just look at Golovkin, he hasn't taken this lightly and hasn't overlooked Brook, Golovkin is here to do a job, a demolition job, Golovkin looks on point and that spells pain for Brook.

Yeah, I'd bet the house on Brook getting ko'd. I just don't see how he doesn't get knocked out. He's gonna get ran through and when Brook sees that he can't hurt him, it will really be over
