Johnny Nelson's game plan for Brook V Golovkin

Brook demanding access to massive rings had caused him too many problems in the past.

 

It's a good game plan.
Why prolong Brook's suffering ?
Just get him to go all out kamikaze at the opening bell. He'll probably suffer a clean KO, or something quick like that, and has an outside chance of getting in a miracle punch of his own before Golovkin has got into his rhythm.

Any other strategy could well result in a more torturous, more career/life-threatening, beating. And Kell Brook, whatever you think of him, doesn't deserve that.

 

Not bad advice but it should be with his jab aggressive fight him on the inside aka Hatton versus Tyzu. I think GGG's power is at the end of long punches!

 

Johnny really is playing the role of the " SKY company man" here. He knows his job is to flog this Ppv. But it's hard to take what he says seriously. That line he trots out about GGG looking a bit gaunt in the jaw area is really desperation stuff. Pure drivel. Brook has no chance here and that is the best Johnny can come up with! He really is spoofing.

Brook has no business in the ring with GGG. Anybody saying otherwise just doesn't understand boxing. Brook will find out very early that he has no business at 160, never mind any business being in the ring with GGG.

 

Agree completely. And never mind GGG: Brook would get worked over by a number of the world level / fringe world level Middleweights.

Tomorrow's weigh-in (and how Brook looks to be carrying the extra poundage) should be extremely interesting.

 

I could actually see Brook putting in a very respectable effort against pretty much any of the other guys at 160. He's not that small, he has good speed and skills and I don't see why he wouldn't have respectable power at 160.

The big problem is he's up against Golovkin who has freakish power, strength and toughness for a middleweight plus great skills and ring IQ. Against the rest of the division Brook might not be dominant but I think he would at least be competitive.

What else is Kell supposed to do? Stick to being on the back foot all night? He'll get caught.

 

Let's be clear here, Nelson is paid to hype the fight and to do that he needs to big Brook up. No way in hell does he believe what he's saying..
