Bigger one punch power? Shavers vs Tyson

Imagine all these guys in a room reminiscing about fighting hard punchers.

Look at how Holmes head and upper torso react to both punches. Shavers caves him in.

 

The fighter still remembers getting hit during the rounds prior. The knockdown doesn't take that away. I wouldn't use Pacquiao knocking down Mosley as the general rule of thumb. Point is tons of guys said Shavers hit the hardest. Not too many ATG's said the same for Tyson. What would you use as an objective measuring device? Knockouts aren't all about power. Mostly precision.

Maybe Tony Tucker was hit hard by Tyson, as hard as Berbick was hit by Tyson. It was a 12 round fight, and Tyson was landing some big shots. I'm guessing Tucker was hit harder than Spinks was.

That's the problem here. Some guys take the shots better than others.
And fighters take punches better on certain days than they do on others.

The only people in a position to judge TANGIBLE results are the ones getting hit !
You can't pretend to care about tangible results and then dismiss what the men who actually felt the punch said.

 

In combination Tyson. Punch for punch Shavers. I never watched Tyson train live but did watch Shavers. Next to Foreman, Shavers power as displayed hitting the heavy bag impressed me the most.

If a fighter is suffering a concussion from blunt force trauma to the brain their recollection of anything is automatically going to be a bit iffy. Tyson turned plenty of lights out so I don't know why you persist in putting your trust in a fighter's words over the truth that's right in front of you. There are just too many variables to consider.
