They're both pressure fighters... But GGG has a higher ring IQ, better jab, more power etc. etc. So basically you're saying that you favor Floyd to beat a drained GGG, but it's a toss up at 160? LOL. What does Floyd prove then? He doesn't become the #1 dog at MW should he win, and GGG loses nothing. Shitty fight with nothing at stake. If the fight is to matter it has to be at MW. Well you're the one claiming GGG is easy work for Floyd. If it's such easy work, and he's to come out of retirement why doesn't he go up to 160 and school the "basic" GGG?
I came into this thread thinking "He probably could", saw the name Maidana, then thought "Oh yeah, no, GGG hurts him bad" haha.
GGG said he can make 154 comfortably. I'd pick Floyd to beat a 154 GGG that's not drained. At 160, the size difference could be too much, but I'd still favor Floyd. GGG and Maidana fight nothing alike. GGG fights from mid-range, and measures his distance, Maidana fought floyd on the inside, and was just wailing thousands of punches. GGG fihgts far more economical than Maidana does. I just don't see GGG throwing low-blows, and that many rabbit punches, he has too much respect for boxing to do that. When i say easy work, it doesn't mean he's going to come out unscathed. Mosley was "easy work", but he still got stunned badly. When I say easy work I mean on the scorecard he wins easily. Anyways shouldn't you be worried about GGG instead of a retired ATG? GGG has never fought anyone with a pulse, and won't even move up one weihgt class LOL. Dude is a straight coward. He's in one of the weakest divisions in boxing, and his fans are getting angry at mediocre fighters like Jacobs and Saunders for duckign him.
The pbf who beat canelo would have beaten ggg at 154. Ggg is too slow and easy to hit to beat pbf. The difference in skill speed and reflexes is just too much.
GGG is a boxer-puncher but he's still a pressure fighter who would cause some of the same problems that Maidana did. I'm not worried about GGG... I'm worried about the likes of Canelo, Jacobs and Saunders flat out ducking him. I don't go around claiming that GGG would beat the likes of Ward, Degale or Kovalev so there's no need to defend **** on my part. I'm perfectly fine with GGG staying at 160 - and if the right opportunity arises a fight or two at 168. Anyways... Beers are starting to catch up with me, and I'm going to start watching the UFC. I'll let you get the last word. Not going to let this drag out and become one of our infamous back and forth arguments.
Floyd would make easy work out of GGG if his size isn't too much. They're just levels apart. GGG is one of the most overrated boxers of all time. Maidana is also so unorthodox, while GGG is very fundamentally sound. Cotto is FAR more technically sound that Maidana, but Maidana gave him a harder fight. GGG has benefited fighting in one of the weakest divisions in boxing. Why are you fine with GGG staying at 160 a complete dog **** division? Don't you want to see him challenge himself? This guy has never beat anyone above C level, besides maybe Brook, but I'm not giving him an ounce of credit just like I don't give Mayweather credit for beating Marquez.
Exactly boxer punchers like ggg are what pbf loves to fight his whole defense is set up to defeat that style. he can anticipate those punches in his sleep. Maidana is a harder fight because he's awkward and unpredictable it's hard for pbf to read him which throws off his defense and makes him uncomfortable. He also throws a great looping overhand right a dangerous punch for pbfs shoulder roll defense because it can land over the top on the temple. Ggg doesn't throw that punch. Pbf would give ggg the business at 154 Atleast the version who faced canelo would at 40 and inactive who knows how much he has left???
GGG would literately kill Miadana. At 160 he would KO Floyd no doubt . Mayweather is just to small for GGG.
