Brook can LIVE to fight another day, on a very high level because of the humane stoppage. Kell had his moments in the first 4, but there was absolutely 0 doubt as to who was commanding the fight. I was shocked that Kell was willing to go into the trenches on the level he did with GGG. Kell would have lost his top level ability at any weight if that fight had not been stopped. At the time of stoppage (not scoring the 5th) my card read 39-37 GGG.
Nope. Just made a thread talking about how Brook said GGG broke his eye socket in the 2nd round. Brook was on his way to being savagely destroyed. He did what he could for a few rounds, but it was a mismatch in the end. GGG just has too much power for anyone close to the weight class, it looks like.
A 154 and 147 pounder have given GGG his toughest fights. Goes to show how terrible the MW division is.
And was stopped in the 5th round. It's like Chavez-Taylor. There's a cost to pay and, in the end, the cost is too high and GGG will win. I respect Brook for taking the fight and he showed heart after having his eye socket broken. But it was only a matter of time. Brook is no joke. 36-0 coming in. Guy can fight. He's jut no Golovkin. But no one else is either. In the end, Brook is just another victim in the GGG KO streak. But at least he got in the ring and tested himself. All credit for that.
I think this says it all about the MW thew weakest class. If GGG moves up he loses and the truth is he knows this hence why he will stick to figthing the bums at MW
Credit to Brook for taking the fight and taking it up to GGG. But GGG busted him up inside 5 rounds and in doing so delivered his own judgement. The judges' score cards are about as useful as yesterday's fish and chip wrappers.
GGG was winning 3-1 and was well on his way to winning round five. This one was never going to the cards anyway.
3-1 for Brook? Further proof that some boxing fans put a lot of wishful thinking into their scorecards.
