Golovkin over Brook easily. Anyone who says otherwise is either biased or deranged. Khan, although extremely talented, is a guy who got KO'd at lightweight. Brook is a massive welterweight and quite possibly the top guy in that division. Not that the victory over Brook does much for GGG, but it's indisputably a better win than Canelo's over Khan. C'mon, be fair.

Brook would put Khan to sleep so it's a no brainer here.

Canelo was much more impressive vs Khan than GG was vs Brook. Canelo had the most spectacular KO of the year. GG didn't even actually KO Brook, and GG looked out of sorts of for the majority of the fight. GG was more seriously hurt by Brook (the uppercut that caused GG's nose to bleed) than Canelo was by Khan.

Khan out volumed Canelo in many of the rounds, but Canelo took Khan's punches better than GG took Brooks. Brook stood and traded with GG way more than Khan stood and traded with Canelo. Considering that most thought Khan to be a bigger puncher than Brook (Khan more chinny than Brook, Brook a better defensive fighter than Khan) well it was Brook that stood there and traded with GG and seemed to hurt GG on many occasions, while Khan could only out-volume Canelo and not cause the type of damage on Canelo that Brook was able to cause on GG.

And of course Canelo / Khan was fought at a weight 5 lbs closer to Brook / Khan's weight class, welterweight. Making it much easier in terms of weight for Khan vs Canelo than it was for Brook vs GG.

With a Broken Eye Socket?? Khan never had such a serious injury in any of his losses. He was floored by bigger punches than Kell suffered tonight but never complained of having such a serious eye / eye socket injury.

Khan may be prone to being KO'd, but a broken eye socket like Kell has is a very serious injury. Now we all know that Kell has a "glass" eye socket while Khan doesn't. Khan has been knocked out cold but never had his eye socket Broken like that. One punch from Khan could force Ingle to throw in the towel if they ever fought.

Now anytime Kell fights his opponents will be targeting Kell's eye. Kell might be able to drop Khan but Kell isn't as big of a puncher as Danny Garcia or Canelo, but a single punch from Khan could end of the fight with Kell's injured eye!

Khan is so fragile, he has almost zero punch resistance.

I can't give either that much credit for knocking out welterweights but Brook proved he is far tougher than Khan.

It's a hard comparison because Khan has been in there with way tougher opposition and bigger punchers than Kell has. Had Kell fought fighters like Garcia and Canelo he'd probably have sustained more damage than Khan.

What I'd say is that Kell has a more sturdy boxing stance than Khan, and Kell has better overall balance than Khan. Khan definetly can be put off balance and dropped where Kell can't, but on the other hand Kell has a very serious eye socket injury which Khan doesn't have.

So both Khan and Kell have different sort of punch resistance issues. I'd say Brook vs Khan is a good fight at 154. I could also see Brook fighting the loser of Canelo vs Smith. But Brook is going to need some time to heal his eye socket first, if it was bad enough to have to throw in the towel then it's a very serious injury and he probably shouldn't be thinking about fighting top opposition for a while.

No Khan hasn't been in with bigger punchers than Kell now, Brook has just been in with Golovkin, got hit clean, flush and didn't touch the canvas. Khan has never been anywhere near that kind of power.

Khan has been dropped by Willie Limond and a long list of others. Khan was and is considered suspect.

The eye injury is what it is, if this was the second time an injury like this happened to Brook then maybe raise a question about a vulnerability. Only time will tell, it might be a slight fracture or could be very serious, we will find out in due course.

Yes I agree, Brook and Khan has different punch resistances, Brook has resistance and a Khan doesn't.

To be fair GGG was swinging for the fences rushing forward, so for Kell it was easy to ride and block those shots, but he was still wobbling and kept up by the ropes. He was pretty much floored in the first round, but he managed to clinch on to GGG as tightly as possible. If that Towel hadn't came in whilst Kell was wobbling by the ropes he was about to go to sleep and it would have been real bad. As for Canelo, he set up Khan perfectly, he was very calculated methodical in his approach. Gave Khan respect, and caught him flush with a perfect shot.

Khans been in with punchers in every weight division he's been in, Prescott at lightweight, Garcia, Maidana, Judah at light welter and then he fought a huge 154 pounder who really is a 160lber. Brook has only fought Porter the rest have been bums, he spoiled really well throughout that fight and I don't think he took any clean punches to the head. Senchenko wobbled Kell but he aint a puncher.

Great points, and I think one thing is that Canelo is much more calculated in there than GG is. One thing tonight suggests is that GG may be more susceptible to getting tagged (by anyone) than Canelo is. Though I think Golovkin may not have been 100% focused tonight possibly due to being away from home. It's possible that if Golovkin fought someone like Canelo he would tighten up his defense. He probably let his guard down a bit tonight not thinking Kell had much power, and perhaps ate more punches than he usually does.

Tbh Golovkin looked like he took a couple of shots and decided Brook didn't have enough to hurt him and dropped his defence a bit in favour of just spending more of his efforts trying to hurt Brook. I don't feel great with the strategy if that's what it was, but it seems to be a thing he does if he doesn't respect the power he feels. I think Brook's uppercut that got GGG flush a bit later surprised GGG a little and made him start reconsidering.

    That's a very dumb argument !!!

Khan got iced by smaller fighters and he was giving Canelo a boxing clinic for the first six rounds !

Canelo was throwing the "haymaker" overhand right the whole night and finally the blind squirrel found a nut !!!
