No... he's not, but he has a good jab, cuts off the ring fairly well and brings suffocating pressure behind a good high guard defense, he's never been down as a pro, his chin seems fairly solid and he's a savage body puncher. What if Canelo who still gasses and still likes to coast, fades after the 6th round like he usually does? Liam is a much bigger man, with a better chin than Kirkland, who had some success at times when he wasn't being dropped. And how much will making weight effect Canelo he had Kinesio tape on his legs against Khan, that wasn't a good sign, I think this might prove to be one match too many at Light Middleweight

Even if Smith wins, he won't win on the cards anyway.

Liam is an unknown commodity on the world stage, his KO record is deceiving most of his KO's come around 6 or 7 rounds in, most of his early matches are 4 and 6 rounders, so who knows how most of them would have end had they been 8-12. I have the luxury of having this theory since Canelo whose power is vastly overrated, barely beat Lara, Trout and struggled at times with an old past it versions of Gomez and Cotto, and lost to Mayweather. You could make an argument this is the first actual LMW he's facing that has power. Kirkland had the natural disadvantage of having no chin, he was brought in as an easy KO, they drained the hell out of poor Angulo. Liam is a full fledged healthy big tough LMW, Canelo struggles to make the weight, an upset KO loss for Canelo is not inconceivable.

I'm not going with Smith UD.:deal:

Suggesting a robbery is foolish... he beat both Trout and Lara.

That's debatable, I scored the Trout match a draw with the KD, Lara I scored for Canelo, because I don't like Lara, but.... I could easily see that as a draw as well, or a Lara win.

You and I have no idea how good Liam really is. Have you watched a few of his matches?

You think he's really going to shine against Canelo when he was gifted a title? Lol

Smith isn't knocking out Canelo. You guys can keep going back to the older Cotto fight, that don't mean nothing... Canelo was a green WW that was an Internet sensation before he was discovered as the real deal... lol... Smith has no chance.

I had Trout winning by a single point, don't think it was a robbery but the scores too wide at least. Had Lara winning by 2, and again scores too wide.
Then the Floydweather one, in which I had it 117-111 Floyd, while many had it wider. Again, scores were clearly too much favoring Canelo with even a draw in there.
Cotto one was a reasonably close fight, that he deserved to win though. 115-133 or 116-112 should have been OK. Not according to the judges though.
Then we got the last one vs Khan, who was either 4-1 or 3-2 up when laid out in the 6th. Guess what the judges saw?!

5 of his last 7 fights, ended up with scores that clearly favored Canelo, and one of those 7 was a blowout against Kirkland. Even Floyd suffered from those for crying out loud!
Why oh why would anyone call upon favored scores for Alvarez?!

    :deal:

Drenlou of all the matches Canelo has had, this one will probably resemble the Kirland fight, now try to remember it accurately, Kirkland beat the **** out Canelo for the first minute and a half, nearly got KO'd in the 2nd minute and a half. Second round, Kirkland was hurt badly but finished the round with Canelo on the ropes eating shots. 3rd round Kirkland had Canelo on the ropes beating the **** out of him again, then ran into a huge shot that put him down, and another that KO'd him. And remember this, Canelo was half dead gassed by the third round, had that fight gone into the 5th or 6th or 7th, who knows what would have haopopened. Kirkland wore his ass out in 3 rounds. Liam tends to wear guys asses out too.:deal: Liam may hit harder, and goes to the body far more effectively than James too.

    Look how gassed he was.

Wow Cotto got beat 9-3, and I watched that fight with at least 15 people... All had Canelo winning.. I have that fight in DVD, (VIA IMWDVDS.COM) and will restore it, but I doubt I'd have Cotto winning... There was just no controversy and people have forgot about that fight already.
