In terms of marketing his fights - he's TBE made lots of $$$.
    But a top 5 ATG? - no.

I'd put him in the top 30 for sure but he has too many questions marks on his resume I terms of when he fought.

Top 5 defensive fighters off all times for sure but as a whole package he is lacking

In terms of ability when prime, maybe Top 10. There's no way in hell he can be Top 5.
RJJ, SRR, SRL, Ali, Duran - all prime. That's the top 5.

In terms of Greatness, maybe 40th.

Hell NO! between TOP40 - TOP60 ATG in my opinion. His lack of desire to face the best hurts his legacy in my opinion.

Floyd was a great boxer and very wise when it came to making and keeping money.
Not a top 15 guy in my book but that's only my view bro.

Floyd's about 40-45th place resume wise. 2nd best of his generation.

TBE is a top 1 or 2 best defensive fighter ever. he is competing with willie pep in that , although they did if very differently style wise.

top boxer 5, my knowledge of other boxers is limited. boxers have footwork, countering ability, head movement ability, speed ability hand and foot, mastery of all punches hooks, straights, jabs, counter, mastery of timing, distance, angles.

I will leave that up to the experts to determine.

TBE is going to be in the conversation, he was that good. He was so dominate in his era that he never had the challenges that could be used to gauge his ability (castillo thats it). I mean this guy is damn near 40 and the closest to a loss is chino according to the haters. I say that because you expect a guy to start that downward slide. canelo vs TBE was like Charles vs marciano. charles having fought 17 years was caught at the end of his career by this slugger. Not TBE the slugger was pwned.

But TBE never faced those sledge hammer right hands of duran, leonard, hearns, benitez, hagler so we dont know. But for sure chino has good right hand, clownelo has good right hand.

he dominated his era like no other. that should make him number #1 in a lot of categories.

Floyd Is competing with a lot more defensive boxers than Willie Pep for 1. and 2. Pea Whitaker, Nicolino Locche, Marlon Starling, Wilfred Benitez, Miguel Canto, Benny Leonard and many many more.

Locche for example had phenomenal defence as shown in the video below.

Impossible to say - Vargas shouldn't be enough to haul him over someone of the type of class of fighters we're talking about but it would depend upon who he lay behind and what the difference was.
