"Golovkin has to move up" -wrong. Lemme cut you off there. He actually doesn't, ever.

Penny to a pound he was fine with Marvin Hagler stopping at Middleweight and Bernard Hopkins doing what Golovkin is attempting to do. (have the record number of defenses and unify all the belts).

Never said he ducked any middle weights. I said he refuses to challenge himself. If your fine with his best opponent being a welter then that's your thing more power to you

Who did Hagler make is name off? Oh I forgot.... a Lightweight and two Welterweights.

Him and Monzon don't deserve to be ATG's because they never moved up in weight.....

This, and you could say Hopkins best middleweight wins where against fighters who moved up in weight and he's also said to be one of the best middleweights ever.

Those guys were atgs who went on to win belts at mw and above, kell brook was never great and got tko'd in his one and only fight above 147. the comparison does not hold water

GGG just delivered and put on a show that made him a household name with a lot of "casuals"... He's the "A" side now and there are at least a few good money fights ahead of him at MW - Jacobs and then BJS. And if "Chickanelo" fails to make 154 it could be three and more than 15 million in bank...

I'm not sure too many casuals outside the UK were even aware of Brook - unlike, say, Khan (who is probably a "bigger name" domestically and internationally even though knowledgeable boxing people realize Brook is the bigger W)

Canelo had a pretty big jump start on growing his star power from a young age. He still might be seen as the bigger name than Golovkin, but in reality yes Golovkin ought to be the A-side.

Interestingly, Hagler is considered a great middleweight for dominating bums and fighting three great fighters: Leonard (a welterweight), Hearns (another welterweight), and Duran (a lightweight).
