I dont but i UNDERSTAND why fighters make certain decisions, what is the use in moaning about it? In the same position i think 99% of people would take the same decision... 500k to fight vargas 4-5million to face golovkin :S it's not rocket science. You take the millions... we all want competitive matchups and as said earlier brook v spence will probably happen when spences name grows and it'l probably be a better fight at 54 and both will be paid well...

I like competitive matchups but at the same time enjoy huge fight buildups, even if on paper theres a big underdog. Look at ward v kovalev, its a fight deserves wayyyy more attention that it will get, 2 great fighters, 2 unbeaten fighters and it won't do great and both guys probably won't even get great paydays. Nor will there be any exciting buildup to the fight

Sometimes its better to let a fight marinate into something bigger, ofcourse you dont want to wait too long though

I get where you are coming from the fight made logical sense as (Like Khan vs Canelo) it was a no lose situation, with the odds against you if you win, you are the greatest ever, and if you lose then you just drop back down hopefully with your reputation and chin intact.

Both Khan and Brook have done that.

I think Brook would have found a way to beat Spence but it would have been tougher than well... A Jo Jo Dan... I don't think Brook dodged him, I think he was fed up with the mandatories and wanted Vargas or no-one at that weight

Brook vs Khan now seems closer and yet further away than ever, whilst Brook vs Canelo, Khan vs Garcia II are all possibilities.

Personally I feel these divisions (For British fighters at least) have been losing their sparkle, hopefully now we can see two great fighters on good journeys at 154.

(Also Khan may have a glass chin but that doesn't make him a **** fighter, watch Khan vs Maidana if you disagree)

I just hope we get the fights that we deserve, things are definitely looking better for the fans.

    Cheers
    Jack

Your opinion though, once again do you know everything? Do you know everything brook is thinking? I actually felt he seemed confident going in, as stated earlier he was unbeaten, why would he want to suffer defeat? ofcourse he knew the task in front of him which is why when you take a gamble you get rewarded. He showed in the fight he came to win, surely? He would of just gone down round 1 and took his ko loss if he was there to lose?

But that fight is a great fight and deserves to be way bigger than it is. A little like thurman v porter it felt like a small fight with little media attention, yet on paper it was a fantastic matchup.

Of course he will, look at his record he already beat Lara and Trout when they were high risk/low reward.
Canelo dropped to 152 for Mayweather
Canelo took a 5 to 20 mill split 20/80 to fight Cotto.

Canelo has paid his dues, GGG said 154-168 but wouldn't fight Canelo at 155?
GGG is even worse than Canelo, he is the biggest hypocrite don't you agree?

    154-168 then no to 155
Mocks Canelo vs Khan then fights Brook.

Well then why are you going on about spence lol.. what has he done to prove he's the best? Surely you'd rather see brook v garcia/thurman/cotto/canelo ahead of spence? All are proven on world level, spence is not proven. He could get in there with brook and be another lacy, freeze and do nothing. Then people would say ah dud of a fight brook fought another bum...

Agreed with every point you made, except maybe Khan not being a **** fighter I honestly think Khan has regressed so much and his chin is worse than ever. He will not fight Garcia again that's for sure because he's been mandatory for nearly two years now. I don't think Khan ever wants to lose to brook that much is clear the guy hates him and knows he loses.

Khan wasted his prime chasing Mayweather now that Canelo fight might be his last pay day.

Yes lets not forget he'l move to 168 but for ward its 164... but because ward isn't a puncher nobody cares when you duck a guy who isn't seen to be a killer in the ring. It's funny because everyone knew ward beats golovkin, they knew it too and knew it would kill his reputation.

You may be right in his believing he could win! His corner did throw in the towel pretty quick. But, I don't know if they knew how badly damaged his eye was at the time they stopped it. Did they stop the fight once they saw their guy in trouble or did they stop it to protect the eye? Either way, I'll be looking to see Brook his next time out!

Youre consistent, but at the end of the day you HAVE to give Brook Credit. Let's be fair!

GGG is a hypocrite in regards to Ward not with Canelo. He never asked for the Brook fight whereas Canelo asked for the Khan fight so there's the difference in that part of your argument.

Do I think GGG should just go down and fight Canelo maybe because I wanna if they would actually fight at that 155, they offered him 157 I believe. In regards to Lara and trout they were close fights which left a bad taste in some people's mouth about the result. I think Lara beat and I think he beat trout close.

As soon as dom ingle got in the ring and brook looked at him he pointed to the eye to insist thats why he stopped it.

Khan gets paid well no matter who he fights and the more losses he has the less risk he takes reputation wise

Khan wants Garcia bad, if that fight don't happen it is because Garcia wants something else.

I have given him credit, I never downplayed his performance I just said he went for the money can I blame him from a financial stand point hell no, can I from a fan stand point yes because I wanted to see him unify the division which i thought he could.
