Golovkin can't draw in the US or the UK. Perhaps his next fight will be in Moscow.

If you are using TV & PPV views/buys, then YES, they can and should be used as a measurement of a boxer's popularity. That's business sense 101.

How does one (a boxer) become popular?
Path 1: Exposure, skill and recognition. I.E., Canelo Vs Mayweather, Canelo Vs Cotto, Canelo Vs LAra, etc.
Path 2: Media Hype and careful, soft match making. I.E. Bute, Golovkin.

Golovkin should have accepted Canelo's terms way back and he wouldn't be such a nobody today.

 

So going by that logic Ward should have accepted 164 should he not?
