I always picked Mayweather to school Pacquiao but knew that the 40m flat fee offer was total BS. This was proven by how much Pac actually earned when the fight took place despite being the B-side with the smaller half of the split.

It's rather obvious why, the public is 90% behind Golovkin. The man could fight one bum after another, or an overly matched opponent like Brook, and people will still praise him. It's clearly a matter of common sense. Anything Alvarez and his team say is either quickly ignored or quickly forgotten. The hype is extreme with Golovkin and his idiotic fan base are ready to cheer him on regardless. A good example of this would be Alvarez vs Khan and Golovkin vs Brook. Remember the hate following Alvarez for fighting Khan and the endless praise following Golovkin for fighting Brook?.

That would be a shocking number to turn down. And whoever said Canelo/ggg would do 100m in revenue is an idiot. The fight in a million years would not do Mayweather numbers.
There is no doubt that Canelo is the draw, but he turned down his mandatory. And for that he should give GG 60-40 and at the least 65-35. Anything less is disrespect.
Honestly this can't be said without actually looking at the history of splits. People assume this to be the case but I know Mayweather/Mosley was much more wider than that and not one person bitched about that. ggg will get what he deserves.
