Yep. As we expected another Smith brother fails at world level.

I really don't want to see him against Brook now. It would just be like Dan, Gavin, Bizzy all over again lol.

Smith v Brook would be a good 1st fight for Brook at 154 ibs after such a long lay off as he will have no doubt, but only one winner Brook every time. Franks comments regarding competitiveness of Brook and Smiths respective fights was so biased and so untrue its funny how bitter he is. Liam comes across as a nice lad but even though him and Frank were calling for Brook fight for months their levels apart, Brook at WW is an elite level fighter as he will be at LMW. Lets not forget Brook went up two WEIGHTS for his fight v a much better fighter than Canelo were as Smiths opponent came down to fight him at his career weight.

It's very debatable don't who was more competitive tbh. I can't split it tbh, they both got dominated.

Brook definitely landed the better shots but he fought right in to GGG's hands because GGG wanted him to fight not run and hammered him.

Smith fought his perfect fight and still was horribly over matched

That's why you occasionally have situations when two domestic/euro level fighters get to fight for a world title as in the case with Liam Smith and John Thompson. Liam seems a nice guy, but a world level fighter, i just never see it. I'm sure if Brother Paul had fought a figher of John Thompson's calibre he too would have been a world champion. Some fighters get those breaks, some don't.

He'd claim that Eddie Hearn wasn't a competitor to him. Typical hurt loser comment!

Do you know for sure it was sparring with Brook that caused Smith to be cut? I'm thinking they probably only sparred that once when Brook came back for the 30 day weigh in, so the timelines match up (Smith said he hasn't sparred since Aug 12) but it didn't look like he was cut at the end of that video.

Definitely. Ricky Burns holds the title of a major body at 140. Has Matthyse ever done that? No. It shows you how ridiculous these things can be.

a bit harsh guys ! Canelo got totally schooled by Floyd, no one is claiming Canelo aint world class

World class in any thing is at least the Top 20 in the world, Smith might just be in that group

Top elite, that's another thing, but just because you can't beat Canelo doesn't mean you are not world class

To be fair, on this site, you make a thread about anything you are just hoping for maybe 10% honest posts, and 90% deluded hate.

If Haskins v Hall was the fight of the century last week, Brook scored a stunning win over Golovkin, ditto Edwards over Casimero, followed this week by Smith beating Canelo, then next week Crolla beating Linares- it would still be 90% hate on how garbage the UK boxing scene is from most of these ****ers.

Smith wasn't good enough , he was outclassed in every department.Canelo is the first real class fighter he has met and he was out of his depth .Hats off to him he gave a very brave performance but was systematically ground down and wrecked.
