Sonny Liston was lured over a cliff by the Road Runner.

Arguello killed himself. It didn't surprise me, sadly, he had long suffered from depression and I had already read countless articles talking about his struggles with addiction, depression, and being suicidal.

I think Liston just OD'd. I think the mob would've just killed him like they usually kill people as opposed to making it look like an OD.

Gatti's case is weird. A purse strap holding an 180 lb person?

While Amanda seemed shady, it doesn't mean she killed him or had him killed. The 2nd investigation on the death, the "independent" investigation, was hired by Gatti's friend, and all it really said was that it was "possible" that he didn't kill himself. Anyone could have told you it was "possible".

Gatti's own brother thought he killed himself.

One thing that is annoying is when idiots say "oh he would never kill himself, look at how much heart he had in the ring". That is one of the dumbest, illogical arguments I have ever heard speculating on someone's death. Amazingly, numerous people go on repeating this absolute nonsense as "proof" or "evidence" that he was killed.

It's quite possibly the stupidest argument I have ever heard on a boxing forum.

You're right - Gatti's case is very strange and suspicious - for several reasons, e.g. blood on the wife's purse strap; wife not noticing he was dead for 10 hours; impending divorce with a pre-nup in place... ... ...

That said, by all accounts, Gatti had a complicated and turbulent private life, combined with alleged heavy drinking and drug abuse. He was also, apparently, prone to bouts of rage, violent outbursts, publicly delinquent behavior and depression, which are not indicators of a steady state of mind. His career had come to an end; his marriage was failing and quite possibly about to end. It's not inconceivable that he might be suicidal.

However, there are just too many oddities surrounding the tragedy for it to be a clear, open and shut case.

Probably won't ever be solved unless there's a jailhouse confession and a snitch at this point, but exciting Mobile, Alabama, welter Jesse James Hughes died in 1995 from drowning, face-down in a swamp. There was non-lethal trauma to the head and the presumption is he was whacked over the head and either landed with his face in the water or placed in that way so he would die.

It remains unsolved, but Hughes was known to go to bad parts of town and set up crack buys, only to beat up the dealer and still his money (and probably his stash -- a non-lethal amount of cocaine was found his his system in the toxicology report). Could either have been revenge for one of those deals or either he tried it on the wrong dealer and got thumped on the head and ended up dying.

If Arguello was death was a political assassination his previous issues would make a suicide plausible. I know some members of Arguello's family believe he was murdered.

Liston probably just died of a heart attack. It happens a lot to men. Liston was probably 40 years old but some say he was 50, and for whatever reason he seemed "old". He had a tough life. He probably ate too much red meat and fatty foods (steak and cheesecake, and southern fried food) and was known to drink and smoke cigars. Being an athlete is no guarantee against congested arteries.
His wife was out of town so maybe he had female company. He wouldn't be the first or last to die in Las Vegas b*lls deep in some h00ker's a$$. But that's just my theory. Some might say fantasy. Whatever.

That one seems suspicious. Has gangland written all over it, but maybe just another suicide.
There's that theory that he was a serial killer too, and topped himself accordingly.

The events leading up to his death show that it was almost certainly suicide.

It is known that he borrowed the rifle that he was killed with from a friend.

As for the idea that he was a serial killer, I won't even dignify that with a response.

My father was with Freddie Mills at a boxing dinner shortly before he died. He told me that when the dessert came up it was a banana with two peaches on the plate. They all had a laugh because it looked like a dick with a pair of bollocks. He said Freddie took one look at it and said "if the rumours about me are true I should enjoy this".

Freddie liked a blow- job and I think his partner in them was often the singer Micheal Holliday.

Freddie was the giver I believe,I don't beleive he was "Jack The Stripper",the serial killer but curiously each victim had semen in her mouth when her body was found.
