U guys remember when Floyd told pac he'd give him 40 million dollars out of pocket to fight him? Sure it would have been pacquiaos biggest payday, but he wasn't getting a share of the gate earnings or the ppv. That's the same thing that's happening with canelo-golovkin. I think the fight can easily draw more buyers than the canelo-cotto fight by next September. Considering all the money this fight makes off of the gate, and ppv combined... 11 million is a horrible offer whether it's a career high payday or not, canelo would go home with 50-70 million win lose or draw.

Foh. You clowns always talked that "this is this guys biggest pay day" that they should take the fight crap. Anything over 10 mil he must accept.

Some people here still believe the 40m for Pac wasn't a lowball offer. Even if he netted 4 to 5 times as much when the fight finally happened.

The difference is Pac actually had PPV numbers close to Floyd. GGG has PPV numbers close to Rigondeaux, basically nil.

Neither Canelo or Golovkin are the type of generational stars that Manny and Floyd were, this fight at most does Canelo-Cotto numbers people need to get serious.

GGG doesn't even deserve that much. His last PPV fight did horrible numbers. He should get around 8 million and that would be great considering he's not a PPV draw.

    This is a long question....

Would it be fair to say neither Canelo or Golovkin have done enough to get anywhere near Pacquiao and Mayweather money.

You can't just insist you are the new face of boxing now Mayweather has retired and Pacquiao is on his way out, you have to go and prove it like Pacquiao and Mayweather did, multi weight world champions who beat or destroyed everybody in their paths.

While Golovkin is dominating his weight, 160 isn't packed with much talent and Canelo has gone back to 154 and beat a domestic level fighter coming of the back of smashing brittle jawed Khan and talking about Monroe Jr next.

It's a fight we all would like to see but are we as boxing fans being led up the garden path again and buying in to the ridiculous hype?
