Sanders is very under rated and some what misunderstood. He's a big southpaw that looks a little stiff in his lower body, but he could quickly circle /move with his feet, and deliver power shots, or counter punches with great speed and power. Vitali had to change tactics to avoid these blows.
Sanders blew his tank and because he never had any defense , Vitali easily peppered him with 1-2s. All Sanders could do was swing wild haye makers and go for gold. How was peppering him with 1-2s a change of tactics to the 1-2 combo he threw in every round and in every other fight? Vitali isn't adaptable. He's a one trick pony. Tacticians don't quit fights when things don't fo their way.
only misunderstanding is why kliturds are all so happy to big up a 38 year old man and accept he should get not one, but two title shots when retired, when he couldn't land one when prime.
bowe would destroy him, no doubt about it. think about it, past prime lewis beat prime vitali with pressure and inside fighting. vitali was clueless on the inside, lewis battered him with those telegraphed uppercuts, imagine prime bowe ripping those short uppercuts and hooks. bowe also had a great jab, he would bust vitali's face with it, vitali has thin skin. and that overhand right hand that bowe has is tailor made to catch vitali when he leans back.
hmm. lets see. prime vits best wins are sam peter, a guy conditioned for 6 round fights not title matches, and 38 year old sanders who when prime couldn't get a title shot. And he still struggled with them. Riddicks best win is ATG Evander. this matchup is akin to putting Riddick from the Pitch Black movie in the ring with the cowardly guy in Aliens 2 who keeps yelling "game over maaaaan game over"
Bowe would get slapped around on account of not having the feet or defense needed. He was also a size smaller.
The beating Golota gave him would be nothing to what Vitali would give him. He would pick him apart and bust him up. Maybe the Bowe who fought Holyfield in the first two bouts would make things interesting but I doubt he'd look half as impressive against a someone bigger than him with the skills of Vitali....
There's actually a very good chance that Bowe would get DQ'd or quit on his stool. I wouldn't expect him to take a beating like Sam Peter did if it came down to that (although he also quit). He'd likely dispute the ref's count, have Rock or some clown from his entourage jump in the ring, threaten the ref, etc. Something bizarre in a failed attempt to save face.
The thread said prime vs prime. Why don't we put 92 Bowe against the Vitali that looked like trash against Manny Charr. Or the Vitali that was bullied all over the ring by Chisora. This is what you are doing. And Vitali never gave an elite fighter a running over in his life , he isn't giving one to one of the greatest of all time like Riddik Bowe. A Golota Bowe was still a better looking fighter than the fat Lewis who couldn't box his way out of a wet paper bag , yet still managed to beat a prime Vitali in 6 rounds. Bowe would beat Vitali worse than he beat Perrier Coatzer and that's the truth.
