There are 2 fighters that can beat Canelo easily GGG and Lemieux. Canelo beats everyone else at 160lbs. People are talking about Brook being GGG biggest win, no Lemieux is the best fighter GGG has fought. If Oscar wants to make the GGG in September 17, he needs to match up Canelo with BJS or Glen Tapia. Lemieux could ruin the September plans for Canelo.

Lemieux would be a very dangerous fight

He has improved tremendously since losing to gg and is a better fighter now

He's improved so much most people should actually rank him #2 at middleweight behind Canelo

Agree with the thread title but disagree with the overall assessment. Canelo would also lose to Derevyanchenko, Saunders, Eubank, Castano, Korobov, Lee, Lemieux, Jacobs, Quillin and N'Dam.

Lemieux is not a top 5 MW. He's in the lower half of the top 10.

Lemieux would be a hard day and a step up for Canelo and if anyone thinks other wise they are not seeing clearly IMO

Canelo beats Lemieux with a shot to the liver like he did to the British, Canelo's power is real and without boiling in 160 watch out.

Don't worry, Canelo will never fight Lemieux.

Canelo struggles with boxers because he himself is a boxer/counterpuncher. Guys like Lemieux don't beat guys like GG or Canelo.

Lemieux's style poses no threat to Canelo. If Canelo has trouble with Lemieux then it's because he actually fighting a guy his size with good power.

The only ones I see being a threat at Canelo at 160 are Saunders, Jacobs, and GGG. Quillin is basically a crude version of Canelo but with more power and a weaker chin.

I think Canelo would respect Lemiux's power and box him for some rounds while working to the body to weaken him. Late in the fight Lemiux takes a nap or his corner stops it.

I don't see CEJ beating Canelo and I'm not familiar enough with N'Dam or Castano. Could you rec a match from them? I've heard them mentioned a bit, but I never looked too deeply into them.

I also think Demetrious Andrade beats Canelo at 154, but admittedly that could be slight bias on my end.

Castano is actually kind of like a bigger faster version of Canelo, I think he'd give Canelo fits, he's damn good coming forward and off the backfoot. And he has a win over Derevyanchenko, which personally I rank higher than a win over Liam Smith abnd James Kirkland, since Sergiy is almost as good if not better than Canelo technically.

This is N'Dam's match against Lemieux, I'm going out on a limb here and saying Lemieux hits harder than Canelo, and David dropped N'Dam very hard 4 times, but his powers of recovery are tremendous, and add to that N'Dam managed to win about 5 rounds in spite of being dropped that many times and saw the final bell, and was coming on strong in the last two. Stylistically N'Dam would be hellish for slow footed Canelo to have to deal with.

Yeah I agree Lemieux has two losses against guys no more better than Canelo, that said Lemieux must have some power as we saw the respect Golovkin gave him in their fight,he didn't walk him down and take his shots like he did with Brook,he got down to boxing and jabbed his head off.
