Prime for prime Vitali picks him apart IMO, let's not forget Bowe looked poor at times before he faced Holyfield....
Vitali would have picked Bowe apart and made him pay for every sloppy swing. By the end of the fight Rob Zombie would be at ringside with 200 dollars to pick Riddick up as an extra for his latest slasher movie. But if Bowe was clever he could get at least double that because he'd need no make up, provided they shot the scene straight after the fight.
Exactly, because your rightful station in life is fetishiizing the Klitschko's on the internet for years on end.
Bowe wasn't very agile, movement gave him problems, such has against Tubbs, Biggs, Holyfield in the rematch, Hide and Golota. If these smaller men could out box Bowe, the taller rangier Vitali could definitely do so. Vitali outboxed Lewis from range, if he could do that to Lewis he could definitely to that to the slower footed, easier to hit Bowe. So the big question is could Bowe do what Lewis did and take the fight to Vitali on the inside and beat him up like Lewis was starting to do in their fight? Bowe definitely had the inside skills to beat Vitali even worse than Lewis did inside. But I'm not so sure Bowe could repeat what Lewis did. Lewis always had better head movement and quicker feet which helped Lewis get inside on Vitali. If you want to see a comparison between Bowe's and Lewis head movement watch their fights with Biggs. Lewis easily slipped inside Bigg's jab, Bowe on the other hand was almost hit at will by Biggs jab. He simply couldn't slip a jab like Lewis could and that would make it harder for Bowe to do what Lewis did. Lewis' quicker feet were also a major difference between the two. Lewis was quick enough to step inside and get off first against Vitali, Bowe isn't able to do this. Watch the 2nd round of Lewis/Bowe at the Olympics, it's Lewis ability to step in and get off first before Bowe can react which allowed Lewis to overwhelm Bowe in the 2nd round. When Lewis forced the attack, Bowe couldn't get off first or get away because of his slow feet. Suffice to say I think Bowe has a tough time with Vitali even if he wins. Maybe his chin and heart would see him walk through Vitali's punches and eventually wear Vitali down. But Vitali had a damn good chin as well and had a great engine he isn't going to wear down easily.
You're talking like a prime agile Lewis from the mid 90's beat Vitali. Not the actual old , fat version who could only plod forward in a straight line and dropped like a sack of spuds into his corner after every round. Manny Steward Lewis didn't have quick feet at all. Not even when he fought Holy , let alone when he faced Vitali Bowe wasn't fleet of foot , but quick feet was never the only component of great foot work. Bowe had great foot work and positioning , this is why he was always able to get off first on tall up right guys like Coazter and Gonzalez. Vitali was far more stiff, creaky and upright then them. His defense far worse than Bowe's. Vitali really had no defence at all. No head movement , no block , no upper body movement - nothing. He made errors over and over such as dangling his hands by his waist , punching upwards and bringing his punches back to his waist again. Elite Bowe boxer like Bowe exploits this all day long. Why do you think his face was hanging off him vs Lewis? And forget about this - if Goloto could do this imagine what Vitali would ... No , Vitali could not do what Golota done because Vitali doesn't have the defensive slickness Golota had. He doesn't throw combo's from different angles. He don't apply the same rate of pressure Golota did. And people think that ball blasters from a 245 pound man had no effect on Bowes performance He would have done a lot better without those combo's to the nuts . Golota himself knew that , its literally all he had to fend off a past prime Riddik Bowe. Look at both guys performance against Byrd and you can see the evidence to back up everything i said. Prime Vitali couldn't touch Byrd who was laying up against the ropes. There was a thread a while back on the general - Wilder vs Byrd. Most picked Byrd to win , a lot of picks made on the basis that Wilder's arms get dislodged outta their sockets from swinging at air. Well, that's exactly how Vitali lost to Byrd. Wilder losing that way was only a theory. Vitali actually did lose that way and performed in the real world how Wilder did in fantasy land. Post car crash Golota , who had no power left and no jab , dealt with Byrd easier than Vitali . He was able to score two flash knock downs - rules as slips- but were legit KDs. Vit couldn't touch Byrd , never mind hurt him. Vitali being some beast H2H is the biggest myth in boxing. His record rates about a 4/10 and he lost to the only two decent guys he faced. One a puff'd up LHW. The other an inactive , one foot in retirement Lewis.
I think Vitali would be able to do everything Golota did to Bowe plus some. Vitali would be by far the toughest opponent he faced and an opponent with serious power, solid chin and technique. I see a late stoppage by Vitali 8-12 rd TKO
I agree with everything that you said here except for Vitali stopping Bowe. Bowe has a good enough chin, big enough heart and good enough recuperative powers to endure a career-altering beating. I reckon he makes it to the end and is hospitalized like Briggs.
You may be right but I could see it getting dangerous for a tired Bowe, Vitali started coming on in the 7-8th rds and got a few stops 9-10-11-12 so I think the REF may stop it once Bowe starts getting hit too much
tired bowe, is this a joke? bowe went 12 hard rounds with prime holyfield, when did vitali showed stamina like that? he was barely breathing after six rounds with past prime lewis...
LOL. Vitali better than Holyfield now? a holyfield who went on to beat tyson twice. who did vitali beat again ? who did he stop is a better question.. Coatzer had better fundamentals than vitali and thats the truth.
