“A flat fee for a fight is usually given to a fighter or contender who’s clearly the ‘B’ side,” Loeffler told The Los Angeles Times. “My offer back to [Golden Boy] was based on a percentage, just like we saw in the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao agreement.”

Lowballing a possible opponent then say he has ducked you by not taking the offer is a fake&gay move !!!

Well GGG is clearly the B side. This does not compare to Mayweather vs Pacquiao in terms of both fighters notoriety. Casuals don't really know GGG. Nothing wrong with making a counter offer. But, if Team GGG prices themselves out, it should be viewed as a duck on their part.

Golovkin is the B-side but not as much as many would presume. Canelo was guaranteed $3.5 million in his last 2 fights plus whatever else he earned in percentages from PPV's and Mexican TV.

While Golovkin made $2 million vs Lemieux and a reported $4-5 million against Brook. He sold surprisingly well in the UK, against Brook who isn't a big draw, he'd likely do the same against Eubank Jr and BJS, so Golovkin has options for good paydays now that didn't exist before.

While the offer from Canelo's side looks great we don't know the split. $10-12 million may seem great but if it's only 20-30% of the total pot then I can see why GGG would want a bigger share of the pot and make a counter offer where they get a fair percentage.

This is just further example of how Al Haymon is the Jesus Christ of boxing, and Floyd, Canelo, Quillin and Billy Joe Saunders are his disciples.

35% would be the maximum viable counter, and that's pushing it. If these guys get too greedy and give Canelo an out, it's on them...especially, if they agree to fight at MW.
