This totally incorrect. A 4.38 guy (legit fully auto timed) is at the very least good for a 10.4 - 10.5 100 meters... if not much faster. You are way off.
Yeah, the 5.7 must be laps of the earth right? Seeing as he started at age 48, he must have finished when he was 88, so 5.7 laps is not bad. I mean, to even COMPLETE the 40 years dash requires greatness, nevermind the distance achieved.
It was from a decathlon he did in college. And if case you are wondering, the 100 meters is the first event.
Most small guys can't get to super heavyweight without steroids or being fat. A lot of those that do sacrifice stamina and effectiveness.
that's what I thought, I was thinking the 40 yard was misinterpreted as 400 yard/m with 11 something seconds per 100.
yeh excess weight is just a nono in cardio sports, and that's across the board at the top level. too much extra oxygen demand to be effective. don't matter how hard you can hit when you cant last more than a few rounds or cant manage more than 2 combos before you are puffing.
I'd proffer than to even CONTEMPLATE it means greatness. The mental pressure of thinking it would induce multiple heart attacks and strokes in a normal sane man. So you've just achieved ATGness, Unforgiven.
I will guarantee you that I know more about the sport of Athletics than any writer for the WSJ. They are way off.
Yeah, I think I'm going to just sit here for the next 40 years now, resting on my laurels and getting my breath back.
They ran Perry off this forum for making claims like these. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but providing a more accurate conversion for the run times would make you way more convincing. Anyway, like I said, I think Brown was slightly less fast than Peterson, but better overall. Still don't have a source for Browns time? I've heard his time was different, but I haven't seen a direct source.
